Fun fact, in the 80’s this guy sang Hungry Eyes on the Dirty Dancing Soundtrack. Eric Carmen, Antonio Sabato Jr and Chachi. Awesome.

It's a good thing he's preempted any questions about whether he was the REAL Eric Carmen

Also if he had a lick of self-awareness, his handle would obviously be @notericcartman

The Mississippi man who was tried six times for the same crime and whose case was the subject of Season 2 of the APM Reports podcast In the Dark sees his two-decade saga come to an end.

At long last, Curtis Flowers is free.

The Mississippi man endured nearly 23 years behind bars, six trials, four death sentences and, most recently, months of house arrest for murders he always maintained that he didn’t commit, and for which the evidence of his guilt was weak.

His legal odyssey ended Friday when the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, which had been reviewing the case since February, submitted a motion to dismiss the indictments against him for the 1996 murders of four people in Winona, Mississippi.

How does double jeopardy not apply in a situation like this?

Double jeopardy is for when the individual is found to be not guilty. Looks like that never happened here.

Trial 1: Found guilty, Mississippi Supreme Court sent it back down for another trial due to procedural errors.
Trial 2: Found guilty, Mississippi Supreme Court sent it back down for another trial due to procedural errors.
Trial 3: Found guilty, Mississippi Supreme Court sent it back down for another trial due to discriminatory jury selection.
Trial 4: Mistrial (hung jury)
Trial 5: Mistrial (hung jury)
Trial 6: Found guilty; United States Supreme Court sent it back down for another trial due to discriminatory jury selection.

Oftentimes prosecutors decline to do another trial on a case where there's a hung jury. Especially if there's 2-3 of them. But they aren't required to.

I don't think Trump will lose any support over it. But in a world where I'm actually analyzing and not just paranoid that Trump is going to steal it somehow, I'd say that he needs to make a comeback and this will eat up some valuable clock. Every week that they're focusing on something awful Trump did is a week they're not both-sidesing something Biden did.

This is the right way to look at it. Maybe Kelly or Mattis come out and verify this and it snowballs into a Swiftboat type thing.

Think about it this way, the one or two real fence sitters out the 10s of 1000s who say they are, aren’t sitting on the fence any longer.

Democratic nominee Joe Biden leads Trump, 41% to 37%, in a survey of more than 1,000 subscribers to the Military Times. Trump held a 20-percentage-point lead over Hillary Clinton in the same poll before the 2016 election.

100% that shutting down the Stars and Stripes was retaliation for this poll.

That's awesome but the actual polling done pre-dates this story.

Why do they get to keep the money? How did ELEVEN freshmen get off campus if the university is sooooooo into enforcing rules? Why are they keeping the money? The money really bugs me, the university system is mostly just corrupt, predatory, greedy, and stopped hiding their for profit agendas years and years ago...They're going to get away with it too probably because we can't help but funnel money, which is real and totally not made up, to places and people and things that don't need it

It seems like local businesses are much more aggressively displaying political signs this election. Maybe they did in 2016 as well, but I’m seeing it everywhere. Hell, I just drove by a huge construction project (multiple apartments buildings with a clubhouse and pool) that has a giant Trump/Pence sign hanging from the foreman trailer.
