Another week of Trump having to go on defense and allow Biden not to have to do anything is fine by me. It also shifts the virus narrative from being about what you didn't know to being about you knew and didn't do. Claiming ignorance (which has always been be) is completely gone.

According to CNN a whistle blower complaint was filed by a DHS employee stating that political apointees directed them to change intellegence assessments to fit Trump's narrative. What a country, what a time to be alive!

To this day I'll never understand why Trump did not seize upon the political gold represented by the virus and George Floyd. Was it extreme narcissism and insecurity that kept him from cashing in or was it something else? Just doesn't make sense, there HAD to be people around him advising him as to what an opportunity these events presented.

That's probably the reason, makes perfect sense.

GOP'ers are reaping what they purposely built. Feel sad for the people who are getting crushed on a daily basis instead of the white privileged sense of amorphus ennui.

Trump adds Ted Cruz and Tom Cotton to his list of potential SCOTUS candidates.

If this wasnt real life with real implications I would be super intrigued by the psychology behind what I call 'scandal fatigue' that has allowed Trump to survive several dozen presidency ending events. If you are going to be a corrupt and incompetent president, you might as well be the most corrupt incompetent president who ever lived.

Trump and Kushner thinking something was a good idea let alone, being interviewed by Woodward? That should have been the kiss of death, glad they're both too horsefeathering stupid to realize this and decided to forge ahead.

As has been said before, Trump always thinks the solution is more Trump, and he’s always wrong.

I know SCOTUS judges typically aren’t a motivating factor for Dem voters, but GD.

I hate it as much as anybody, but the fact that Biden appeals to old white moderates is the reason he's dominating Trump.

I always believed the idea that Trump is rather bored and somewhat disinterested in things like threat assessments and intelligence briefings. And because of that he probably heard about the virus but just kind of waved his hands and dismissed that it would really be a disaster.

Now to find out that he actually was paying attention, and had fully processed the info, is shocking to me. It means he’s likely paying full attention to many other things as well. It means that the perception of Trump is very likely wrong - at least to some degree - but in the worst possible way.

IIRC neither Gorsuch nor Kavanaugh were on the first list he published in 2016.

He's very stupid, that's been displayed on many occasions. I do not believe he's has a deep understanding of anything, on the surface, which is all you'll get with him, he was trying to prevent massive panic. Preventing a panic in itself is not a bad thing, of course, because he doesn't know WTF he's doing, it turned into a disaster.
