Now to find out that he actually was paying attention, and had fully processed the info, is shocking to me. It means he’s likely paying full attention to many other things as well. It means that the perception of Trump is very likely wrong - at least to some degree - but in the worst possible way.

Yes, I know. Pretty rich coming from this Dubya/Cheney/Iraq War stooge, but it doesn't mean his analysis is wrong in this instance:

it's also quite amazing that he was saying this stuff on the record to a guy with a tape recorder and then saying something completely different to the public like the next day. i mean...is he so stupid to not be able to see far enough into the future to realize this was gonna turn bad for him?

i think that refutes any notion of "oh trump isn't actually that dumb, he privately acknowledged the severity of the virus." i think he was just trying to impress woodward with all the serious president business he was doing.

It's not support of Trump, it support of racism, white supremacy, xenophobia the GOP ideals that people are voting for when they cast a ballot for Trump. I believe many Republican voters know he's fraud and incapable yet, he''s all they have.

I don't know. I think many are so gaslit that they still don't know he's a fraud. They'll chalk up the failure (begrudgingly) that Trumps style was just too unique/brash for the DC swamp monsters to work with (or something like that... I don't know it obviously won't involve logic)

At least we know if there was a chance for the Russians to unload any info on Biden, (if they have anything) this would have been the time to unload it.

Imagine being so far gone that you think Trump, of all horsefeathering people, is communicating with you via clever doublespeak and code and horsefeathers and is somehow some kind of masterful, under the table strategist. That's somehow even crazier than believing there's a secret cabal of super vampires or whatever the horsefeathers drinking kids' blood.

Can reporters literally find nothing better to do than find random crazy people and give them national platforms?

I feel like these stories are an attempt to come up with some sort of explanation for why people would vote for Trump. Like the obvious answer that they want a white fascist ethnostate is too easy so maybe they're all just literally insane.

It’s a sad, inescapable fact that a large percentage of humanity can be told something with sufficient conviction and they’ll just buy into it without applying any logic or reason. It explains Trump. Explains Manson, Jim Jones.
