Look, if it made sense they'd call it the Science of the Deal. This is Art, mkay.

Even if it gets Trump a few votes, I do want to see this get passed. I can't imagine the crapstorm that will be caused by having to wait until January 20 for a new relief bill. It's really the only thing I can see him doing that might give him some voter help. I'm shocked it has taken this long. Many have lost their businesses already. Many business owners are Republicans.

Yea, I agree they should get back to the table. The last offer was like a 2.2T? See if you can get 2.5 or 2.6 directed towards your key wants and get something done.

They have to do something or Biden is going to inherit as big a mess as Obama did. Alabama has been booming but retail and restaurants are closing all over the place.

Trump is such an idiot. And those around him who were not able to convince him to get hold of the pandemic are worse.

People need help, regardless of whether this a political stunt by a desperate incumbent or not, doing so may garner some votes. However, I believe most people have seen Trump, McConnell and Co. sit on their hands all Summer on this, no sense of urgency, nothing. Its obvious the GOP, as a whole, doesn't give a horsefeathers about average Americans beyond what they can do for them like re-electing them.

Read today he's blaming Gold Star families for the WH outbreak, guess its beneficial that Trump is so stupid and narcissistic because, its leading to the end of his Presidency. Even now instead of playing the blame game, he'd garner support by admitting a literally grave mistake and taking active steps to help mitigate COVID.

Here's a headline from the Post today: "Trump tries frantically to make up lost ground with seniors, promising free medicine and checks"

He's starting to remind me of a kid running for class president - "If you elect me, I promise there will be no more homework!"

What a minute antifa' main proposition or idea is the prevention of fascism given this, coupled with the fact people are trying to participate in a democratic process by voting, why would antifa want to disrupt that process? There's isn't a person who's ever had an intelligent thought in their lifetimes among them is there? We all know the intent and, its not to preserve the sanctity of the election, if they're going to attempt voter intimidation and suppression behind some facade. They should at least have that facade make some logical sense or appear to be reasonable.

Voter intimidation. It won't work any better than what the Gov. of Texas and the BOE of Ohio is trying to do. People are going to vote.

They'd had a better chance relying on the apathy of people much like 2016. Although, this time there won''t be much voter apathy, people are showing up to vote Trump out. These stunts are only adding fuel to fire, inspiring even more people to vote.

The one thing that gives me pause is voter suppression. All things being fair, this should be the biggest landslide since 1984. I worry about election day stories showing fights in polling lines and Proud Boys walking armed around Orlando.

But damn -- wasn't that long ago you guys were making fun of me for worrying about him as a serious candidate.

I'll still happily make fun of you for worrying about him as a serious candidate.

(Not so) hot take: he's not even the most dangerous/worrisome of the Republican candidates. Someone like Cruz or Rubio, IMO, would be much more damaging.
