I'm keeping Last Week Tonight. You can have the rest.

Colbert and Meyers are great, but I agree that anyone still recording and watching the episodes is behind the times. The 10-15 minute monologue or segment videos they post to YouTube are all you need, same with the daily show.

Especially during COVID when they can't really have on guests. Zoom interviews are painful to watch 95% of the time. The 5% when it's not is when the hosts are interviewing people they're friends with and they just cut up and have a good time (i.e. Meyers and anyone from SNL or Colbert and Carrell)

You don’t have to watch the interviews if it’s somebody I’d not of interest. Colbert is usually good for a couple guests a week

I just watch the Colbert highlights on Youtube when I eat lunch the next day. Pretty much my routine at this point.

Mondays suck when there's no Oliver, tho.

It's insanity. That not only are people trying to do this to someone like Joe Biden of all people who's the most milquetoast president in recent memory, but that people think they can get away with it.

They're not there to kill Biden. They're there to kill the Republicans.

I don't agree with Bill Maher about much, but he had a good point last night: Trump cultists love Trump because he's an equal opportunity hater. Trump hates Republicans as much as he hates Democrats (and people who hate the government LOVE THAT).

It's why Hawley/Cruz/whoever will never capture his base: they'll never turn on Republicans. Cruz et al would never publicly blast other members of their party.

Forgive my ignorance of this situation, but what does this mean, exactly? What kind of power does this position yield that helps Trump/hurts Biden?

He's the authority to fire up more document shredders.

Yeah, it's a potential "get rid of the evidence" move.

That was certainly my thought...destroy evidence.

New corruption scandal: Trump offering pardons for $2 million according to a Guilliani associate

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... SApp_Other

An associate of Rudy Giuliani told a former CIA officer a presidential pardon was “going to cost $2m”, the New York Times reported on Sunday in the latest bombshell to break across the last, chaotic days of Donald Trump’s presidency.

The report detailed widespread and in some cases lucrative lobbying involving people seeking a pardon as Trump’s time in office winds down. The 45th president, impeached twice, will leave power on Wednesday with the inauguration of Joe Biden.

The former CIA officer John Kiriakou, who was jailed in 2012 for leaking the identity of an operative involved in torture, told the Times he laughed at the remark from the associate of Giuliani, the former New York mayor who as Trump’s personal attorney is reportedly a possible pardon recipient himself.

“Two million bucks – are you out of your mind?” Kiriakou reportedly said. “Even if I had two million bucks, I wouldn’t spend it to recover a $700,000 pension.”

An associate of Kiriakou reported the conversation to the FBI, the Times said.

Moar non-Trump Republicans, ready to responsibly govern, is all we need.
