So our soon to be new chief diplomat appears to be an End of Days Christian Fundamentalist. What could possibly go wrong?

Democrat appointed SCOTUS picks.

NOBODY on either side is motivated to vote by SCOTUS appointments. A 97 year old Biden, Warren, or whoever can moonwalk into the presidency.

Looks like Lesko (R) has been named the winner in the special election in AZ. Not a surprise given Trump won by +20 and the demographics weren't in favor for Tiperneni.

Also, the GOP spent heavily in the race whereas the left spent little from its national resources.

Almost doesn't count but if this ends up between 5-7% for the margin of victory, the Dems should feel good about this. Hopefully, they'll regret not putting more resources.

1) Make election day a federal holiday.
2) Enact National Popular Vote.

Its at 5.2% at the moment for Lesko, which is straight up insane especially considering what was spent nationally. I don't know if anyone has spent much time in this area but trust me when I say it is bonkers conservative.

As for regretting not spending money here...look, the only reason you would want to spend money in a district like this is if you wanted to mindlessly run up the score nationally in a scenario where you literally could not lose the House, which simply isn't the case, or for non-sensical narrative reasons. Also, this is a special election and they do it all over again soon.

That makes sense, I just wonder if the DNC underestimated how close this race has been. That doesn't factor that the demographics weren't nearly as favorable as in Western PA with Lamb.

Of course being a highly red district (home of Racist Joe), you were going to see some voter shenanigans (suppression)...

https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/po ... 537702002/

Roughly 140,000 Maricopa County voters have not received ID cards, potentially leaving eligible voters in Tuesday's special congressional election unaware that they can cast a ballot.

County election officials said they haven't sent cards out since December, blaming a printing delay.

It should be noted that the margin of victory was only 9K votes.

This is not at all true. Netting a pro-life, pro-gun SCOTUS is the justification many of the religious right down here in the bible belt are using to justify voting for someone they acknowledge is an unquestioned scumbag. Local right wing talk shows openly accept all the garbage that comes with the administration, since none of it outweighs those gains. (Their thoughts, not mine.) I forget the Supreme Court decision and I'm too lazy to look it up right now, but the message they like to cling to is that there was a Supreme Court decision sometime in the 70s I believe that was 5-4 in favor of the pro-gun side, and the doom-and-gloom right wing take on it is that they were one vote away from any city council in the country having the authority to take away the guns in their town. If the Trump circus is what it takes to maintain that majority, then so be it.

That's what the left is up against.

Yeah, SCOTUS seems to be the popular defense from republican voters around me in PA lately. "Trump is an idiot and I hate him but if it means voting for him instead of hillary and keeping the 2nd Amendment or stop baby killings then id do it all over again blah blah blah George Soros"

It's not like he's co-signing any political ideology. Trump is a celebrity, Kanye likes celebrities that's as deep as this is.
