Re: Politics & Current Events

The video shared by White House press secretary Sarah Sanders of CNN's Jim Acosta at a White House news conference — and used to justify the revocation of Acosta's press credentials — was sped up, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said on Sunday.

Conway disagreed with claims that the video had been "doctored," however.

“That’s not altered, that’s sped up,” Conway told "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace on Sunday. “They do it all the time in sports to see if there’s actually a first down or a touchdown. So I have to disagree with the, I think, overall description of this video being doctored as if we put somebody else’s arm in there.”

Where would we be with out high speed replays to really show us what happened in sports?

I think its near there

It's about 5 miles away, Ho Chunk is closer to the Dells than Baraboo.

It's all the same once you're N. of Madison.

In that tweet they took down the caption "we even got the black kid to do it".

I want no part of a President Pence; I hope Trumpy finishes his term and is summarily drummed out of office (along with every other idiot Trumper).

Yep, two years ago I might have been convinced the other way, just to avoid becoming a worldwide embarrassment and the damage Trump was going to do to foreign relations, race relations, etc. But now that damage is done, and we've seen the near criminal efficiency that the GOP has when pushing their gross agenda through with a totally incompetent president, much less someone who understands and is committed to the same agenda (if not worse).

Yeah, also I think whoever follows Trump is going to get a bump simply from not being Trump and a complete horsefeathers. I think Pence's views are monstrous and won't care for all the "President Pence is such a breath of fresh air after Trump......" media hot takes we would certainly get. He joined Trump's team!

No, they don't deserve anything besides defeat.

Yeah Pence may be more evil, but he's a more conventional brand of evil that would likely be stopped from whatever horrific policies he tries to put in place. What I'm not sure about is if Pence taking over with 1 year left gives the GOP less chance or more chance of being re-elected. I'm guessing less chance but who knows.

If we go by history, it doesn’t bode well for Pence’s chances.

I feel that maybe this is a piss-poor tweet, and even worse, an awful underlying false rationalization....perhaps tied to some sort of measure he voted for. I dunno, maybe I'm wrong about that.

Sasse has been trying to rebrand himself as a voice of reason from the Right, which is remarkable considering we have videotape. After the deficit reports from after the tax cuts and now the midterm elections, I'm sure he is trying to reclaim the Fiscal Conservative mantle as well.

All he cares about is adoration. The day after midterms is essentially the day after the last Cubs game for us. Based on today's news, it sounds like he's just letting Melania run the White House. Enjoy it while you can.

trump going "horsefeathers this" and abdicating the throne has pretty much been the end game all along, and is why all these conservative goons have either neglected to call him on his horsefeathers or have only done it verbally on twitter while remaining loyal in person. if trump steps away, they get to do whatever they want while he just issues mean girl tweets and bitches at reporters. meanwhile they suffer no consequences, because everyone is focused on trump calling the leader of some other country gay or implying that angela merkel is a whore or whatever.

there's no motivation to have him actually die or resign because then they would in theory be held accountable by at least some members of the public who would no longer have trump's dumb smokescreens distracting them

There wouldn't be a bump from Trump to Pence, Trump has a 90% approval rating with the GOP, there will also be a pretty nasty hangover when this debacle is over.

Sure the older traditional GOP voter might prefer Pence, but they're the ones who despise Trump & still vote for him because of the (R). It's that 30% of his base that have come to enjoy his act that "lock her up" and "build that wall" rhetoric that will be forever gone. It's like going from Jerry Springer to Phil Donahue, they'll get bored and tune Pence out.

The two front-runners for the GOP are currently Pence and Cruz.
