Flew into Mexico City yesterday and went back and forth to Puebla. Saw part of the caravan. It was far more heartbreaking than threatening

I'm seeing talk of Trump getting kicked out of the presidency by the 25th amendment lately, and I think it would be smart of the Republicans to do this before the new House gets sworn in if they do it at all. They don't want to elevate Nancy Pelosi to the VP spot and still have to deal with a Dem speaker, right?

Standard procedure for the highest ranking senator.

It wouldn't work that way. The line of succession just decides who becomes President if there isn't one available. It's not a queue where everyone moves up a spot.

Wasn’t this House of Cards season 2 or 3’s premise?

I'm assuming he means that since the new VP would have to be approved by both the House and the Senate, it would remain vacant until 2021. Pelosi technically wouldn't be VP but still second in line.

I don't agree though. In that scenario, the Democrats would cave and approve Susan Collins or someone.

also, i particularly enjoyed marco rubio's super-relatable analogy here, not to mention that his analogy makes no horsefeathering sense:

Not exactly, my recollection is Underwood pulls strings to convince the sitting VP he'd be happier and more influential running for governor of his home state(which has a democratic opening in the race after Corey Stoll's character dies, maybe?), and gets the President to make him the new VP after the old VP wins that governorship.

Signature matching. Which they should, it's a [expletive] and probably unconstitutional rule.

foxnews hasn't tweeted beyond a couple "breaking news" posts, in protest of the tucker carlson home attack story, matt drudge deleted all his tweets again and it looks like wikileaks hasn't tweeted either

other people have theories that something big is coming from mueller

so reddit people must be linking all those things, but I don't see how they are similar

plot twist

“Fox News supports CNN in its legal effort to regain its White House reporter’s press credential. We intend to file an amicus brief with the U.S. District Court,” network President Jay Wallace said in a statement Wednesday. “Secret Service passes for working White House journalists should never be weaponized.”

Wallace added: “While we don’t condone the growing antagonistic tone by both the President and the press at recent media avails, we do support a free press, access and open exchanges for the American people.”
