That SCOTUS abortion ruling has me a little unsettled this morning. I’ve always felt that even if the court started to have a conservative majority that they would claim stare decisis and just avoid the issue, but I don’t know anymore. That’s scary.

Why would you have thought that?

Because of how few abortion cases the Supreme Court has decided to hear since Roe (three true abortion cases off the top of my head, Casey, Carhart, and Hellerstedt) The Court almost always avoids the issue by claiming stare decisis. In the past, Supreme Court Justices were intelligent enough to realize the sheer chaos that overturning Roe would cause, thus why they virtually never grant Certiorari (there have likely been thousands of Petitions for Cert filed on abortion cases). Dipsh*ts like Kav are a far cry from level headed justices like Roberts. If they get one more conservative justice that is more of a Kav than a Roberts, Roe is in major trouble because there will be a majority willing to grant Cert.

They're tiny from all the steroids he's taken.

But more to the point, the GOP has decided to lift the veil and are out and proud. They don't believe they should be questioned about anything they do and will do anything to hold on to power.

Might not be a coincidence, but I’m certainly happy that they’re coming out now, and not next October. I have nightmares of the party doing the obvious dumb thing and nominating Biden, only to have like a dozen women come forward two weeks before the election.

I heard it somewhere on Crooked Media and totally agree, the only strategy available to the GOP in 2020 is to go scorched earth on everyone, turn off the electorate so only Trump’s base goes to the polls. It sounds like they’re on their way.

I can see that to a certain extent, but it does seem a whole lot easier to just wait until the Dems pick someone, and then just take that person down right before the election so it's too late to fix it (see HRC). If they start picking off Dem candidates, just makes it more likely we'll settle on someone without any skeletons (hopefully such a person exists).

Great impassioned speech by Warren. Wish would’ve given it 8 years ago. She is really impressive.
