Miller declined to comment. His name did not appear on any of the documents reviewed by The Post. But as he is White House senior adviser on immigration policy, officials at ICE understood that he was pressing the plan.

“It was basically an idea that Miller wanted that nobody else wanted to carry out,” said one congressional investigator who has spoken to one of the whistleblowers. “What happened here is that Stephen Miller called people at ICE, said if they’re going to cut funding, you’ve got to make sure you’re releasing people in Pelosi’s district and other congressional districts.”

I normally don't wish ill will on anyone, but I want something bad to happen to Stephen Miller. The dude is straight up comic book villain levels of evil. I would punch him in the face if I saw him anywhere in Chicago.

Something truly horrific needs to happen to him. Contracting Dracunculiasis seems fitting, but many parasitic diseases would work.

Too big to quote the above about the immigrants/sanctuary cities, but another banner day for the White House who has spent the last 12ish hours denying that this was ever seriously considered, just thrown out as a suggestion, etc. And then...

the way this country treats public education isn't democratic, it's parasitic. Currently, I am working with a school district to install panic buttons and electronic switches on all exterior doors, and then sequenced switching on interior fire doors. Because its easier to make money off of fear then pass some horsefeathering gun laws. I guess.

I think rational people see it as two things:

1) like you said. Oh no, not cities specifically designed to welcome immigrants to America! What a travesty!

2) they recognize that Trump and his ilk are so racist they think an injection of lots of mexican immigrants into these welcoming cities is going to somehow devalue or crumble their society.

Either way, it's such a flawed idea of a punishment and even goes against what his supporters wanted. He's spent all these years saying "you can't come in we're building a wall" and now he thinks he's being clever by... Letting them in our country?

Guys, dumping people en masse (likely without what little means and possessions they had to begin with) seemingly at random into cities without any kind of regard as to where these people actually would want or need to go to or be able to live, and without any regard as to whether the city can handle such a sudden influx isn't the amazing self-own you seem to hope or want it to be. It's hopelessly cruel, and it will cause a ton of problems and suffering for all of the wrong people.

You are painting a picture that is not only stupid it’s ridiculous. The cities are much better equipped to deal with the people than some tent complex in Southern Alabama. Also, anything is better than a cage. So yea, Mr. Contrarian fire away.

Just one question, why the horsefeathers do think Trump is going to ever take them where they want to go?

Cities struggling to handle homelessness and poverty every horsefeathering day aren't in any position to be able to just flip on a switch and figure out what to do with thousands of people with nothing literally suddenly dropped off at their doorstep. Nobody is horsefeathering saying to keep them caged or in refugee camp limbo, but this isn't a solution and it isn't that much better, and it sure as horsefeathers isn't this amazing self-troll job that the Li'brul meme machine desperately wants it to be.

If they do this, it horsefeathering sucks bad for everyone involved, period, and Trump and co. yet again get to crow and act like they owned the Libs. No city in the US is setup to just suddenly take in thousands of asylum seekers and refugees who have nothing without federal assistance.

Even just hundreds of detained asylum seekers being released is overwhelming local support systems:

https://psmag.com/social-justice/ice-re ... y-arrivals

The key problem is that this is something the NEEDS federal support, and it's not coming.

But the important thing for everyone to remember is Trump has created this crisis. It didn’t exist before him and won’t exist after he’s gone. He’s a cruel disgusting evil person.

https://splinternews.com/trump-raised-a ... 1834037920

With the constant news of an ever-expanding 2020 Democratic primary, it’s easy to forget that there is also a Trump reelection campaign underway. But not only is the Trump 2020 campaign going, it’s apparently going hard. The Associated Press reports that the Trump campaign raised $30 million in the first quarter, outpacing the hauls of the top two Democratic candidates combined.

In total, Trump’s 2020 campaign now has $40.8 million on hand. If that sounds like a lot, that’s because it is—it’s an unprecedented sum for a reelection campaign to raise this far out from the election.

It seems that most of Trump’s money came from small donors. The campaign says that almost 99 percent of donations were for $200 or less, and the average donation size was $34.26.

The Republican National Committee has cleaned up as well, bringing in $45.8 million in the first quarter.

Of course, Trump has had much longer to build momentum than the other campaigns. He famously launched his reelection bid almost the moment he took office in 2017. Most of his potential challengers’ campaigns are only a few months old.

But this is still a huge amount of money for any reelection campaign to raise this quickly. Obama had only $2 million in the bank as this point in his reelection campaign. He went on to raise $720 million, while Trump is aiming for $1 billion even.

William Weld is running as a GOP candidate for president in 2020.

I don't think this challenges Trump's chances in ANY way, but I approve of forcing him to waste time and resources on the primary process

Hopefully, he stays in to the end and steals some votes, ala Jill Stein.

The last two Presidents who had primary challenges have lost re-election.
