So there's almost nothing that the AG said in the 4 page memo, to Congress, or in today's press conference that wasn't either wildly partisan or wildly misleading. Aweseome

As was I, which is why it's a moot point involving someone like Warren.

Ok?

Dude, I'm saying it's pointless to bring up a Bush/Cheney-type of situation when the discussion is centered around whether or not the traditionally not-powerful role of VP is the best place for someone like Elizabeth freakin' Warren. It should be painfully obvious that that example is not applicable here at all.

unless you felt she could be the pivotal seat in the Senate and a hard-line policy hawk. There are absolutely ways for her to be effective in the VP, and it's not pointless at all to consider if you have other choices for Sec. of Treasury, Labor or Commerce who could be as effective as she would be. I would see Klobuchar filling the hawk VP role better than Warren, but it's still not a moot point to make.

Wow, you're going to be REAL disappointed when you get to meet the Democratic party.

But yeah, the only "power" the office has gained in the last century or so is as a stepping stone to the presidency. Other than that, it's largely been a consolation prize to losers, or a place to corner potential in-house rivals/challengers to authority. Unless someone inexplicably wants or expects ELIZABETH WARREN (extra emphasis for the extra absurdity) to find herself in or try to orchestrate being in a Bush/Cheney setup, I think it's silly to want her relegated to the VP spot. It would be better served to bolster the reputation of some of these younger candidates the Democrats have in the hopes of them being able to win the top spot themselves after they ideally take the WH back in 2020, and she (and us) are far better served by her being able to influence policy via a cabinet position (or the Senate, if the Democrats somehow manage to claw that back).

And just since I forgot to touch on this:

unless you felt she could be the pivotal seat in the Senate and a hard-line policy hawk.

You're seemingly conflating the VP casting the tie-breaking vote and what the Majority leaders do.

Someone on Reddit posted this pertaining to that:

In perhaps the best illustration of Barr's bad faith in preparing his summary, we can now see the full paragraph from which Barr chose to quote only the final clause (in italics):

The investigation also identified numerous links between the Russian government and the Trump Campaign. Although the investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and that the Campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts, the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.

Not a word is, or could be defensibly redacted. There was no reason to only excerpt 25% of a sentence that was explicitly written by the Special Counsel to summarize his own conclusions.

when I first started listening to podcasts, his was one of those in my rotation. But his entire schtick is complaining about not being able to take a left without a turn signal and blaming poor people for being poor because his mom received welfare and that was depressing or something. He also thinks there's too many mexicans in california.

Warren is 100% right in her sentiment, but the amusement is in the idea that our Congress is in any way driven by constitutional duty rather than partisan nonsense
