Same. I just didn't find it compelling in any way. Truthfully, I found it so unremarkable, the one ep. I did watch I was only partially focused on it.

maybe it's because they made absolutely no effort to get people to care about or understand the motivations of the characters before rushing into crisis mode, but it just felt really sloppy and unremarkable to me. like some cookie cutter 90s thriller i've seen a hundred times.

they eventually make an effort to do that by dedicating a full episode to flashbacks, but it fails miserably.. i still thought the show was relatively entertaining, though. dramatic jason bateman is great.

Man, The Tick was a LOT better than I was expecting. Bummer that it's only half of the first season out now.

With the caveat that I'm only 2/3rds of the way through the season, Ozark is like a police sketch of Breaking Bad. It's fine for what it's trying to do, but it bears a close enough resemblance that you can't help but make the comparison and be a little bummed at the lack of detail.

The lukewarm reviews here are cracking me up after seeing all the local people I know who have watched it just rave about how good it was. I'm one episode in and thought the same thing about lack of background that's been mentioned.

Spoiler: show
exactly my issue with it. waiting til you're 70% through the season to finally release some flashbacks/background story to why the hell they're doing what they're doing is so bizarre to me. the flashback episode should've been like, episode 3, or they could've just sprinkled flashback scenes throughout the season.

even still though, when they did provide the backstory i was like "oh ok so they're just horsefeathers people and there's no reason for them to do this other than money" so it wouldn't have made a difference to me even if they did change when/how they did it.

Spoiler: show
i felt like (again, maybe just my forgiving personality - i'd probably make a terrible juror) that they are kinda good people that made a really horsefeathers decision because of selfishness and now they are truly horsefeathers and regret it but they're like "well we don't want our family to die bc of this so horsefeathers it we gotta keep going". I can't relate bc i've never laundered money for a major mexican cartel but i can relate to making horsefeathers decisions sometimes that screw things up for the future and then you're stuck trying to figure out what you have to do to make things as "right" as possible.

ETA: if you haven't watched it i don't think either spoilered posts would give away anything if you haven't watched the show. i just didn't want to be an ass that replied to a spoilered post with an unspoilered one

Posts about some show called Ozarks that nobody seems to like all that much: a bunch.

Posts about something else, like, oh, I don't know, the returned Twin Peaks: possibly two.

Basically, David Lynch waited 25 years and 17 weeks to horsefeathers with us even more than usual. Well done.

Just getting into The Ranch on Netflix. Pretty funny but the laugh track annoys me.

my 3 year old niece is at my house and we’re watching Sesame Street.

1. I have called at least 3 of the puppets a dumbass
2. Elmo is a condescending prick if you choose to hear him that way
3. the letter of the day was F and Gwen Stefani was only singing about friends. seems like a missed opportunity
4. they were singing something about “it’s nice to be kind” and I could only think about Cindy Sandberg

this show is weird as horsefeathers, but I think I may watch a few more episodes after she leaves
