Just let me pace on a stage for an hour with a dorky collar mic and rattle horsefeathers off and I'll make a horsefeathering MINT.

Others in this thread have already said it, but Cobra Kai really is great. Even the teenage relationship stuff which I usually hate in other shows worked really well here.

You can probably just watch that one episode of Seinfeld if you want a shortcut.

But seriously. Just invest 1.5 hours into some not-bad 80s pop culture and then you can just enjoy Cobra Kai. As far as popular/cheesy 80s movies go, the Karate Kid holds up really well. Pat Morita was amazing in it.

Honestly, no. Cobra Kai uses some flashback scenes to catch you up and explain what’s going on.

Here’s what you need to know. Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi are good, Cobra Kai and Johnny Lawrence are bad. Wax on, wax off. Everything else will be explained through flashbacks or dialogue.

However, you should see the original Karate Kid because it’s just a good movie! Pat Morita was nominated for an Academy Award!

You can skip the sequels.

Alternatively you could watch the episode of Community in which Chang stars in a play based on Karate Kid.

But also, it struck me as almost criminal how little training Danielson received before being tossed into to ring w/the Cobra Kai creeps. Lucky all he walked away with was a likely sprained mcl

No way that happens in real life

And of course he gets the girl, but wtf would ever give a 16 yr old a cherry '47 Ford Super Deluxe as a gift? You just know the chances of him wrapping it around a tree is like 85%, but a little impetulant bitch like Danielson? 100%!

Nice job you old drunk Miyagi! At least you got your house painted!

Daniel is an horsefeathers

Cobra Kai forever

Daniel did an illegal move to win the all valley in 1984, now Jonny has become a drunk because of it. Daniel should have stayed in Jersey. He shows up to a beach party like he is the horsefeathers, steals Ally away, etc.

Just need to decide if my wife might actually watch it or I should go solo. Always easier to knock out new shows that are shared viewing for us.
