I'm only two episodes in, but I wish they'd cast different people in some of the roles. I don't think Chris Rock is a particularly good actor so far. Andrew Bird is awful, though his role isn't that important so far. Not really sold at all that Jason Schwartzman was right either.

Yeah, Bird is terrible, but I can't imagine he's going to be in it much. I generally like Schwartzman and have no issues with him in this, though I think I'm just numb to people inexplicably casting Chris Rock in anything at this point; I just know he's always going to be this glaring sore thumb of suckiness, so I just go in hoping to be pleasantly surprised if he manages to not suck too much.

That new Witches trailer immediately lost me as soon as his godawful narration kicked in.

i generally like Schwartzman too, but when he speaks Italian it sounds like someone doing a bad Super Mario impression.

Yeah, I thought he was making fun of somebody at first.

I haven't been watching it but apparently the husband of one of my teachers from the film school was in it as Yiddles Milligan in the first episode.

Season 2 of The Boys finishes up in a few hours. I'm excited to see how it ends.

I also started watching the Jack Ryan series on Amazon Prime. It's pretty aggressively mediocre, but so were most of Tom Clancy's books. Just common political and spy thrillers. And it scratches my itch for that, so I'm glad they made it. Jim from The Office and Bunk from The Wire are likable enough to make the show watchable.

It doesn't disappoint. I love short seasons because I think the quality is better when you don't have to fill so much time, but man it sucks when you get to the end of good content.

This is the last Marvel content that Hulu will be doing. Everything after this will be on Disney+ of course, but there's a couple of clips in this of the stop animation show MODOK. One clip near the start...another around 7:30. The stop motion is by the same company that does Robot Chicken.

I'd prefer watching him murder Alaskans with axes, tho.

Or maybe it'll be like The Big Bang Theory, and we get to watch "Young Dexter."

I think it's possible to make that interesting. I'm not confident that they'll do that.

It's a 10 episode limited series. Tentative plan to air in fall 2021.

Showrunner is the guy that did the first four seasons.

Hard disagree with the "Dexter was fine until that awful series finale" talking point being pushed by some friends of mine today. The show took a decided dive after Rita was killed off, IMO. There were plenty of issues before the finale.
