There are two Schmidt reactions to things Nick did or said that were so funny I needed to make things because of it...

This reaction gif when Nick screws up Schmidt's call on the landline:

And this fake baseball card:

Could that be because The New Girl is a better written recycled version of Friends? This may be the hottest of all takes but it's the same characters just with their quirks reassigned in bits and pieces to other characters. For example, Schmidt used to be fat (Monica) but now is a DB with a heart of Gold (Joey). Nick is coming off a bad break up and doesn't know what to do with his life (Rachel) but also part Ross and part Chandler. Jess is part Phoebe, part Monica. Her relationship with Nick, I have to assume since I gave up after they have their first kiss, is Rachel and Ross.

I'm not one of those people that feels compelled to retroactively hate Friends. But I don't really feel the need to watch the reboot. That being said, True American is great.

Pointing out that a sitcom about a bunch of friends post-Friends is basically just a variation of Friends is actually the coldest of takes, good sir.

I would have also accepted the "Old news is really exciting" gif.

I hope HBO can get an audience for this, I wonder if they can get it to air in time to piggyback off the final season of GOT?

I will never forgive him for the last 3 seasons of Lost, and I will never be duped by that man again. I hope his Dad tells him to retire.

Nope. 2,1,3,4,5,6. Any other order is incorrect.

Thanks, guys. It's a really fun job, but it can be brutal sometimes. The lack of security can really eff with your head. From a personal standpoint, it's just not a great feeling looking at your 7-month-old knowing you're out of a job. And the way FOX cancelled it really crippled our chances of getting staffed on any other network shows. But it is what it is. And the truth is, I've caught a ton of breaks to have gotten the jobs that I have. But sad to see the show go. It was a really fun room.

On the positive side, my writing partner and I got asked to write a pilot for the Disney channel. It's not a ton of money up front, but you never know what could happen. So we'll take that temporary lifeline and try to make something cool.

Second-to-last Americans is tomorrow night. I'm doing the thing where you assume the worst to hedge against disappointment.

Anytime show writers say "We've had the same ending in mind since the first season," I get nervous. That often means a crappy ending that doesn't make any sense relative to years of character and plot development.

I don’t know that I’ve ever had such a visceral “please stop talking will you please just shut up and stop talking” reaction while reading before.
