jersey cubs fan wrote:$5 for an episode of television? Does it give you access to every episode that follows for eternity?

Louis himself (i think) set the market for distributing stand-up specials online at $5. This is 67 minutes, so roughly what a stand-up special would be. If $5 to watch Louis stand on a stage for one hour is ok, shouldn't $5 for Louis CK, Steve Buscemi, Alan Alda, etc. talking in a bar for one hour be ok?

Anybody else have issues with the captions in Narcos syncing up with the dialogue?

Grease Live was pretty damn fun. Just the logistics of a production like that is fascinating.

Anyone planning to watch the OJ thing on FX starting tonight?

I have it queued up, but I don't know how I feel about watching something with Cuba Gooding, Jr. and John Travolta.

I'm morbidly curious, though it seems to already be getting decent reviews.

Cuba as OJ is never going to stop being hilarious, though. Terrible, terrible casting.

the reviews have been really good, almost disappointingly so. i was looking forward to a ryan murphy insanity hatewatch, but instead i'm going to have to settle for a good show.

It's all I've been thinking about this evening. It's been nonstop "I'm not black, I'm OJ!"

Really enjoyed it, but [expletive], of course they had to shoehorn as many references as they could to the stupid ass Kardashians. "Juice, don't kill yourself in Kimmy's bedroom". Yuck.

That bothered me too. At the funeral when the mom warns Khloe top stop running around too, definitely earned a sigh of exasperation.

As far as the OJ thing, this is an interesting interview with Marcia Clark, stressfully watching the first two episodes...

The one in Kim's room didn't bother me that much, as it didn't seem all that egregious. The ones at the funeral were just COME ON.

It's such a [expletive] freakshow, and I cannot look away. Really good character actor casting with a ton of the supporting roles; I think Courtney Vance is going to run away with it as Cochran. I kept wanting it get back to him.

Gooding just seems too small, in every sense of the word, to be playing OJ. When he's supposed to be raging out it's pretty laughable.

Yeah. I keep trying to remind myself that I bought him as a football player in Jerry Maguire but that doesn't work.

Yup. And it's not just a physical thing; he' not intimidating enough, he's not charming enough...he's not OJ enough, dammit. Though, hell, I have no idea who I would cast as OJ.

David Schwimmer cracked me up, too; just running around with his mouth open looking incredulous for a good 95% of his scenes.

As a pretty big X-Files fan, I was rather disappointed with the first episode of this new run, and only slightly less with the second. But Monday night's was pretty fun, which shouldn't be a surprise since Darin Morgan wrote it. The old character chemistry that had been completely absent in the first couple episodes was back , so there might be hope for the reboot yet.

There's already a bunch of details of the case that I'm realizing I did not know about because I was like 11 when it all happened. I knew general stuff about the evidence (i.e. a glove was found, bloody footprints, DNA when people were still sort of skeptical of DNA, etc.) but not just how clearly damning it was. I'd never really gone back and looked into the details of the case against him. I remember as a kid we all cheered in school when he got acquitted, lol. As I got a little older I just realized he was guilty as hell from the general stuff that was out there but I hadn't really gone back to look at/read about all of it. I just knew there was damning evidence against him and that the LAPD screwed a bunch of stuff up and he should've been found guilty.

EDIT - I also actually had no idea OJ went to the wake and all that happened. Holy horsefeathering horsefeathers. I just figured he had been arrested already or something. Or, at least, if I did know, I had forgotten. I googled some pictures from it and it sort of sparked my memory.
