Bryan Fuller—who worked on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager back in the day, before going on to create Pushing Daisies, Wonderfalls and Hannibal—will be the showrunner of the new Star Trek TV show.

Finally got to see the People vs OJ last night. What stood out the most was the horrible little Kardashian children getting excited because their dad was on TV. Just kidding. I think they did a good job conveying the racial tension that surrounded the case. The casting is so good for everybody else, I can see why people are criticizing Cuba Gooding JR.

The thing is, Gooding IS doing a good job, but basically as "a famous athlete who is wanted for a double murder who isn't OJ Simpson."

So the OJ show obviously is taking plenty of liberties, but I'm wondering with the way they're building up Robert Kardashian if they're going to go with the idea that he might have helped OJ get rid of the knife and the clothes he wore during the murders. When they were showing him during Greenwood's speech about anyone helping OJ would be prosecuted with a felony I thought he would end up opening up a closet and seeing OJ's bag from his Chicago trip that the cops could never find (and he was seen carrying for OJ).

I think it's more likely they portray him as conflicted because he knows OJ is guilty but he can't do or say anything about it. It would be particularly hard on him since he was friends with Nicole as well as OJ.

Today I learned that Cuba Gooding Jr was the person in the barber's chair when the Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali conversation is taking place in Coming to America.

Sure, he said after it was all over that he thought he was guilty; I just want it to get even more sordid and juicy instead of just "oh, salt & pepper Ross is saaaaaad."

I wonder if they'll allude to an alleged affair between Chris Darden and Marcia Clark?

Out of left field OJ casting inspiration:

Mathew St. Patrick AKA Keith from Six Feet Under.

Not bad.

Another thought I had. Anthony Anderson. He has the personality for OJ, but has also done "menacing", during his stint on The Shield.

as annoying as it is (and that whole K-A-R-D-A-S-H-I-A-N scene made me cringe big time), probably as many times as they can since they are extremely popular and relevant. much more so than literally anybody else involved in the whole thing.

you actually booed at your tv though? that's weird.

Very weird. I thought it was pretty funny. Plus the two families were very close before and throughout this, so odds are you're going to see them again.

A review I read talks about a scene next week where the kids are marveling at how their family is being treated now that their dad is "famous" because he's OJ's buddy; hopefully OMC doesn't smash his TV.

I thought the most cringe-worthy line was Greenwood's "THIS IS WORSE THAN THE DAY I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER!!"

I'll bet you it's basically what he actually said, but it's the kind of real life, awkward conversation that just sounds completely out of place when someone is dramatically ACT-TING.
