I couldn't find a Cinemax app on my Amazon Fire so I broke down and bought season 2 of The Knick through Amazon last night. I finally made myself turn it off after episode 4 because it was 2 am. Amazing show.

Also, if I somehow missed the Cinemax app or I could have downloaded it on my Roku upstairs I'm going to be irritated.

I had no idea about The Knick. I see it on the guide all the time but never checked it out.

It's horsefeathering great. The sudden cuts to brutal early 20th Century medicine never fail to horrify me, but it's one of the best going.

We had a snow day yesterday and a show came on the History Channel called Apocalypse Man On the show the guy gives tips for surviving some sort of end of days scenario. I was wondering if anyone else has seen it.

The Americans
Better Call Saul
Silicon Valley
GoT

Those are the only currently running shows that I care enough about to consider as appointment TV. I haphazardly watch a few other shows.

Has anyone been watching War & Peace? I have field hockey on Monday nights so I missed the first part. I figure they'll show it a million times but I was wondering what people thought about it. I like the casting from what I remember from reading the book back in college.

I was just coming here to post about how much I love that show. I'm only halfway through the first season, but love every second of it. Of course it wasn't intentional, but the woman who plays Nurse Elkins has the most authentic face I've ever seen in an old period piece. For some reason when you look at pictures of women from that time period, so many of them have these sorta oddly wide faces exactly like that actress has. I know it's the maniacal history nerd in me, but every single time she comes on screen I think about perfect it is.

Spoiler: show

Has anyone watched Angie Tribeca?

Follow up question: Has anybody been horrified by how bad Angie Tribeca is?

It's pretty damn dumb, though Bill Murray's brief guest spot was a delight.

I enjoyed the first three episodes. I like seeing a throwback to Police Squad.

I vaguely remember Police squad stopped being funny by episode 4. Though whenever I think of that show, I remember a gun battle between Leslie Nielsen and the bad guy. The bad guy runs out of bullets and throws his gun. Leslie Nielsen runs out of bullets and throws his gun. They each pull out a bag of guns and start throwing them at each other. Couldn't find the clip.

Bite your tongue. All 6 episodes (and 3 movies) were amazing.

My reaction after watching it for 5 minutes: "Oh, cool. It's an homage to Police Squad!"

And then after realizing there were 19 more episodes: "Oh, crap. It's an homage to Police Squad!"

Colbert's been killing it lately. I know this because I saw the Trump vs. Trump debate and Bernie Sanders promposals clips.

$5 for an episode of television? Does it give you access to every episode that follows for eternity?
