He's a maniac if he is; it's so flippin' great right now. It's killing me that we're only getting 10 episodes this season.

Wow...

Netflix's market value is now $151.6 billion. Disney's market cap as of Thursday morning was $151 billion.

Netflix passed Comcast on Wednesday. The cable giant is now valued at about $144 billion.

Nope. Completely satisfied. That was the TV equivalent of a run differential game. Out of my 10 favorite scenes from the season so far, I'd say 7 or 8 had to have come in this episode.

You had all the usual good stuff: Amazing acting (Stan and Elizabeth put on master classes in subtle facial expressions), huge emotional confrontations (Claudia/Elizabeth!), goofy 80s tech, an excellent character-developing flashback sequence. And they paired it with breakneck plot advancement. Like you list out all the major plot advancements that happened last night and it reads like two seasons' worth:

1) The FBI now has clear surveillance photos of Philip in relatively minor disguise. Stan and maybe even Aderholt will recognize him immediately when the photos are developed. Philip realizes this and that they only have a window of an hour or two, so he calls the bug-out code.

2) Elizabeth murdered Tatiana. Well not exactly murdered, more like out-assassined.

3) Elizabeth attempted to burn the entire KGB hardline coup, only the message hasn't gotten through Oleg yet and she doesn't know it.

4) Oleg is under arrest and facing decades in prison.

5) Paige is finally forced to give up her last shred of Martha-level denialism about what her parents do.

6) Stan confesses his suspicions to his boss, who brushed them aside for now.

For six years, they've been milking drama out of the paranoia that comes from being deep cover. They love to frame shots on background characters or cars just a moment too long, so you have to wonder like the characters do if someone is following them or about to pull out a gun. It was so incredibly satisfying to see that pay off when the random guy pulls out a walkie-talkie and starts chasing Philip.

There's this split-second moment when Paige walks into the house that you can see the thought cross Elizabeth's face that maybe Claudia sent Paige to go Season 2 Jared on her. Paige comes in dressed in all black with her hand in her pocket, Elizabeth looks down at the hand and relaxes when she pulls it out.

...why? I don't get why you'd invest in a growth company and root for dividend payouts. It's basically a sign that they can't grow anymore, and valuations would plummet more than the dividend could make up for.

Holy horsefeathers:

http://variety.com/2018/tv/news/roseann ... 202824211/

ABC has pulled the plug on the revival “Roseanne.”

The move comes after series star Roseanne Barr made a comment on Twitter Tuesday morning referring to former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett as the offspring of the “Muslim Brotherhood & Planet of the Apes.”

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said in a statement.

Barr deleted her tweet about Jarrett not long after posting it. She followed it up with an apology which read, “I apologize to Valerie Jarrett and to all Americans. I am truly sorry for making a bad joke about her politics and her looks. I should have known better. Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste. I am now leaving Twitter.”

The revival of the classic sitcom was set to air a 13-episode eleventh season this fall. The move represents a remarkable turn of events for the network, Barr, and a show that finished the season as the No. 1 scripted primetime television series in the 18-49 demo, according to Nielsen live-plus-same say numbers.

Did not expect a response like this at all.

When she "apologized", I had a feeling it was bad. But I'm still surprised.

It was very popular, wouldn't be surprised if Netflix or some other streaming platform picked the show up. Not sure how network tv works with rights to shows and such. But good for ABC for doing what is right.

She also exchanged some pleasantries w/ Chelsea Clinton. Very busy day for Roseanne.
