It's the absurd through line of JA RULE, of all people, still somehow having any kind of cache with these rich white idiots that maybe cracks me up the most. Like, who the horsefeathers is thrilled to meet Ja Rule after, like, 2004?

"Oh, wow, JA RULE is one of the people behind this festival in 2017?!? WE GOTTA GET IN ON THIS."

The Logan wrote:Just binge watched all of Dirk Gently earlier this week. Supremely odd, pretty fun, and surprisingly violent. Sad to see it got cancelled.

Also just started bingeing Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and that I'm digging a lot.

Haven't seen much talk about Mrs. Maisel hereabouts, but we recently binged it and I thought it was really good. A lot of time when there is a show about some genius performer, the show-within-the-show is terrible. Her on stage time is actually fun. I also dig Monk being very Monky.

Anyway, it took me way too long to realize the big doctor guy there is Chuck, who is now playing Shazam and littering my twitter feed with sponsored tweets.

Now Michael is panicked, and can't even greet the newbie. I think they're setting up Eleanor having to run the new Good Place as Michael did previously, but in her more "human" way, not as Michael the architect would.

I'm not as clear on how they involve the rest of the cast in that.

I'm really looking forward to to this because I loved the comic series so much, but I'm not sure this trailer is gonna really bring in many people that didn't read it.

That we only got three weeks of this and B99 back to back confirms that we are definitely in the Bad Place.

Just curious when you last read the series. I was a big fan when it was coming out, but, like a LOT of Ennis' work, I think it has aged pretty terribly. There are some scattered great moments, but so much of it seems to just play to his worst impulses, both in terms of how much he loves really dumb gross-out/homphobic/rape humor, and how much he really hates 99% of superheroes and needs to tell everyone about it at all times.

Its just a good thing I watched good place on DVR first and then B99 because I needed a pickup from that gut punch.

It's been several years since I've read it. I could definitely see it not holding up as well now.

Castlevania on Netflix is really good. I watched the first episode of season 1 about a year and a half ago but never got around to finishing it. Picked it up again last night (season 1 is 4 25-minute episodes) and came away impressed. A lot of world building and setting up plot lines. Two episodes into season 2 and I like where it’s going (think Castlevania 3). Only negative is the voice actor for the viking vampire is bad compared to everyone else.

I lazily left a Criminal Minds marathon on while housecleaning (in my defense, I thought it was gonna be a Law & Order marathon), and this is maybe the dumbest horsefeathering cop show that has ever existed. Surely it hasn't been on THAT lon-FOURTEEN horsefeathering SEASONS?!?

I probably watched first three seasons. It was quite dumb.

The part that cracked me up the most is the random philosophical voiceover quotes after the cold open.

"Yeah, our show is classy; now let's watch an autistic human serial killer calculator, a selection of generically hot wood planks, and the bajillionth ridiculous CBS hacker character track down murderers while a couple of character actors sleepwalk through a paycheck."

Yea, he was the highlight of that show. My wife used to watch it.

She was watching mostly for this though, I think:

Did you see when the "discovery" of a more svelte Gabrus lurking on 30 Rock made the rounds?

It's weird! It's like Gino actually existed at one point.
