WHAT THE horsefeathers IS THIS SUPER VILLAIN horsefeathers WITH THE BUTTON.

Holy horsefeathers, what a monster. I can't imagine a context where someone wants a button to lock the door to their office where there not at least just a complete anus of a human being.

At some point, he had to put in a request for that thing. Someone approved it and someone installed it. Which is pretty damned horrifying on its own.

Yuuuuup

I think anyone who knew about the button should be fired, holy horsefeathers that is some evil [expletive].

Pretty sure they said that it was a regular security feature for high level employees, in case somebody came in and started shooting, I suppose. He didnt actually request that feature.

Until somebody comes in and starts shooting, yeah, its pretty silly. Then it becomes pretty nifty. Wost part is you just know that his first thought when he heard they were installing it was how much easier the button would make it to be a rapey little horsefeathers.

One could make the same argument that it would make sense to have in schools for similar reasons, and there it's an even worse idea.

Basically I can't imagine it actually does anything significant to secure people better from the really remote possibility of being shot at work; unless somebody is just terrified or expecting it to happen, how often are they going to hit the switch to close and lock the door instead of getting up and taking a look at what the commotion is, at which point they can just close and lock the door?

Basically it sounds like the mass shooting version of the unnecessary horsefeathers that shady doomsday prepper companies (AKA all of them) manage to sucker people into buying.

I think that's the [expletive] rationalization they made up after some of their scumbag higher ups wanted the locks installed.

People are freaking out about the button because of how he used it. The talk of it being "evil" in and of itself, is well, horsefeathering nuts.

I'd imagine journalists need privacy while working on a story the same way a CEO would when on an important call.

Why not just put a lock on the door knob then?

Sometimes you can't get up to lock the door. Especially when you're holding someone down. But seriously, I can see how there are benign reasons to have a button like that. Sometimes in my office, I need to put a sign on the door that says do not disturb so people won't come in. But then again, I don't have a secretary and my office is a shortcut to the bathroom.

I have often asked for a button at my desk that will close and lock my office door. not for touching boobies, for my laziness
