horsefeathers you too? I found a new hobby that I'm enjoying reading about and discussing. I've also told some friends about some of these stocks and they've made money off the tips. Some have picked it up as a hobby. I've always enjoyed reading about sabermetrics stuff and reading about stocks/companies isn't a whole lot different. So maybe there's a poster or two here who are bored in the middle of the baseball wasteland of winter and wouldn't mind a new thing to distract them from all the politics stuff they're reading about. These posts are mostly for them.

Then this isn't just any old time. In my last post I noted that the weed ETF has just about doubled in the past month. It's basically growing at the same rate as bitcoin only it's built on companies with tangible value. And they're just starting to figure out all the stuff the components of weed can do, so for people who like investing in or rooting for industries that benefit the world, this could be one. Forgetting about the companies like Inmed that are trying to cure diseases, weed's probably the best way to end the opioid epidemic and provide a healthier alternative to antidepressants.

If people aren't into it then I've lost nothing other than the time it took me to type stuff out. I could post stuff at r/weedstocks or someplace like that but I'd rather spend the time on this group of people who have been providing free content daily for like 15 years.

I figured that an update that one of the stocks I brought up quintupled in a month might get more people interested. Again, either interest in the ones I'm posting about or just in the market in general. If Tim comes in here and says he doesn't want financial stuff on here then I won't post it. But otherwise what's it hurting?

Seems topical:

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/le ... -would-be/

The business of selling legal weed is big and getting bigger. North Americans spent $6.7 billion on legal cannabis last year, and some analysts think that with California set to open recreational dispensaries on Jan. 1 and Massachusetts and Canada soon to follow, the market could expand to more than $20.2 billion by 2021. So it’s no surprise that you see eager business people across the country lining up to invest millions of dollars in this green rush.

But here’s a word of warning for those looking to dive head-first into these brand-new legal weed markets: The data behind the first four years of legal pot sales, with drops in retail prices and an increase in well-funded cannabis growing operations, shows a market that increasingly favors big businesses with deep pockets. As legal weed keeps expanding, pot prices are likely to continue to decline, making the odds of running a profitable small pot farm even longer.

Washington offers a cautionary tale for would-be pot producers. The state’s marijuana market, for which detailed information is available to the public, has faced consistent declines in prices, production consolidated in larger farms and a competitive marketplace that has forced cannabis processors to shell out for sophisticated technology to create brand new ways to get high.

That IMLFF has done well since I put a small taste on it a couple weeks ago. I've doubled my money already. I'm interested to see if today's bump was a reaction to the CA stuff or if it's sustainable. It's not a huge sum of money (at least not yet), but it's a fun play.

Yeah, the price of weed has been plummeting since dispensaries opened, at least in Colorado, and especially so for the past year. If you want to make money on pot you really don't want to grow it. You want to do medical research on it because weed is magic or something.

I was touring Stash earlier. Theybrecently added a “corporate cannabis” investment that includes aurora, canopy, insys, G.W. and some other names Ive heard thrown around. I dumped money in quickly.

It's not ironic the tangerine toucher hasn't been bragging about the market this week.

I still expect a 12% correction in the market bringing it cliser to the 200 day moving average.

Another 500 loss today (unless a miracle). Odd to imagine wage increases and full employment triggering likely multiple Fed hikes.

Can't wait till it trickles down.

Even with the market doing well, 1500 point loss is tough to swallow.

To be fair, a lot of sites were fooled by that post.

But who cares?
