Austin, TX bombings

Postby OleMissCub » Mon Mar 19, 2018 4:29 am

Two more wounded tonight. Someone has been setting up sophisticated bombs throughout Austin recently. Hadn’t heard about this story until tonight. Police chief said possibly racially motivated. It’s now up to two killed and four wounded in the past month.

I live in Austin and it's a bit weird to go to work and half the people in the office are basically unaware of what's happening around the city because nobody watches the news anymore.

It appears it's some racist asshat targeting black residents, and I haven't seen or heard any connections outside of that. The first few went off in middle class neighborhoods and then the one tonight was in a much more affluent area. One of the victims that was murdered was a 17 year old kid that was a music prodigy. Luckily nobody died tonight. It's horsefeathering sad and makes me sick to my stomach that someone or some group is doing this.

When they catch this guy or group I'm guessing it's going to be dumb luck because they're just leaving the devices on the front porch instead of mailing them.

Between the tripwire and FedEx I don't know if it is racially motivate or not. No clue as to what this person is trying to do, and the police don't seem to have any real leads that they are making public and now asking the community for help and tips. He/She knows what the hell they are doing though, my only guess is that its coming from someone disgruntled from Ft. Hood.

Yeah I think the racial aspect might not be the motivating factor it appeared to be. Has anyone said if the bomb in the FedEx center was actually something that was shipped via FedEx or dropped off?

He described how authorities tracked down the suspect’s vehicle to a Round Rock-area hotel. Police began following the suspect’s vehicle, and as SWAT approached, the suspect detonated a bomb in the car, Manley said.

Milanowski described the device used in the car as a "significant explosive device," but did not provide any other details.

He said the suspect was in the parking lot of the hotel, which has been swept by technicians and bomb-detection dogs.

Very clearly an act of domestic terrorism inspired by racism. Let's see how the media and GOP describes this jackass.

Well, at least he died doing what he loved.

Don't worry, he's white so they determined he's not a terrorist. We're still safe.

I knew they believe this but I can’t believe she literally said it.

Please. All his neighbors never suspected anything and thought he was a good kid.

It's weird that some people don't realize that going to church and "being Christian" doesn't make you a good person, let alone immune from being a truly awful person that does terrible things.

And some people's definition of "being Christian" is solely based on going to church.

To put a finer point on it, the right church. I've had people tell me that Catholics aren't/can't be Christians.
