Anyway...The Village Voice is dead. That sucks.

Three years after buying The Village Voice, and a year after the paper shut down its print edition, owner Peter Barbey told the remaining staff today that the publication will no longer be posting any new stories.

"Today is kind of a sucky day," Barbey told the staff, according to audio obtained by Gothamist. "Due to, basically, business realities, we're going to stop publishing Village Voice new material [sic]."

Barbey said that half of the staff, which is around 15 to 20 people, will remain on to "wind things down," and work on a project to archive the Voice's material online.

The rest of the staff will be let go today.

this is gonna suck ass ladies and gents. I thought this op-ed was just an attempt to swing some votes (ie us good conservatives are still out there!!) but instead its either just laying the groundwork for Pence's power grab after impeachment or trying to keep himself from being tied to the legal fallout. I want him to go down with the Don.

sure. but why try and defend Pence by creating an illusion to his speech writing? Whats to gain unless they ARE worried Trump will go down and want to switch the power and focus to good ol' Mikey and stay in power?

I think George helped Kelley Ann write it and horsefeathers Pence in the process. She doesn't want to be tied to Trump, she has other gigs to get.
