Woodward's nowhere near as bad, but he's definitely been creeping into Hersh territory for a while now in the sense that they're WAY to eager to want to believe too much.

Still, I’ll trust the Pulitzer Prize winner over this White House ten times out of ten

"The history is exactly as I told you."

It's a cliche at this point how much these horsefeathers just don't care about lying because they know they can just claim ANYTHING and their base won't question them on it.

Even beyond that, IME. Among the Trumper/white aggrievement base in my life, they DEMAND such tactics. They view blatant lies as a legitimate use of political power as long as it helps their team.

Hey, as long as they're sticking it to the libs and the fake media, who cares?

I mean, I'm preaching to the choir with this, but any guise of trying to pretend to not be awful and completely selfish as a Republican, voter or politician, is just completely gone. Pretty much every policy and piece of rhetoric they have know is based out of or centered around the idea of horsefeathering specific groups of people over, period. The only thing that's really changed is none of them are bothering to hide it or dress it up anymore. The media is bad and wrong simply because they want it to be bad and wrong, and if they say it, then that's how it is. That clip shows there's no response to it.

They've been brainwashed that this is what the other side has been doing for years. It's the pinnacle of whataboutism. Any news that is counter factual to what they've been told is dismissed out of hand. No crime is too big as long as the guy has an R beside his name.

Unfortunately, it really sounds like the guy is dead. Apparently, 15 Saudi nationals flew into Istanbul the same day and arrived in two black vans to the Saudi consulate. They later all left the same day back to Riyadh. They're probably trained assassins/operatives for the Saudi government and I'm not surprised at all.

MBS is pretty horsefeathering ruthless and people get kidnapped and "disappear" all the time in Saudi.

I'm not a fan of the messenger, but this is an accurate point, I think.

This could've gone in the Politics thread, but just note the way she handles this interview in comparison to other such attempts by fellow journalists.

Definitely; I felt the same thing reading the article about the DeVos/Trump/Prince connections to Russia in the other thread. This administration's failings and crimes are so normalized to the point that any expose feels like something we already know, whether somebody supports or opposed Trump. The shady horsefeathers already appalls those against him, and already is approved or tolerated by the people who support him, so yet another story about murky business dealings, or tax records, or election tampering is just something to add to the enormous pile. Short of revealing something like him hunting and eating children for sport, it's just not going to move the needle.
