there was an explainable digression but it shouldn't have stayed here, and that was probably my fault.

Didn't think it was a big deal, or that most people would care to reply to a separate thread

They should be safe, they're pretty far to the east of the fire. The fire is stretched between Santa Paula and northern Ventura.

Yeah, that's the 405, north of UCLA, right by the Getty Center.

That's two fires inside LA city limits, one to the north in suburban Santa Clarita, the super destructive one in Ventura and one in the foothills and mountains above San Bernardino. And tomorrow is going to be the worst day of winds of the week. Just unprecedented for December.

Yep. Looks like it's under control now. This is from a friend of mine who had to evacuate:

Yeah usually that town shuts down for a week when they get a dusting of snow let alone some of the totals in that link. Woodstock GA got 7in which I believe is a northern suburb.

RIght, my buddy down there was texting me joking around "oh everybody's freaking out cuz of a little snow"...with those amounts, I don't blame them. They aren't equipped for those amounts, and with the hills in that area that's not gonna be fun to drive in.

I’ve been seriously looking at a move to a warmer climate lately and some property in Cali, Nevada and Florida, this cold streak may put me over the top to pull the trigger and move to one of them.

I've been seriously looking to move to a warmer climate every winter for the last 7 years or so at least.

A coworker came into the office this weekend and left her door to balcony open over night Sunday. It was 9 degrees in here and still not close to warm.
