Looking forward to seeing how well the police rioting is depicted.

Ha, there's a scene in the Train to Busan sequel Peninsula in which the evil bad guys debate what number to spray paint onto one of the characters, they pick 61 because it was Chan Ho Park's number

I’m looking forward to hopefully watching this with my dad. He was there in ‘68 so it would be fun to get his perspective on everything. He always tells me how the police smashed his camera.

Holy crap is Independence Day 2 awful. I knew it would be bad but it’s beyond terrible. Its like they were trying to make some 90’s action movie camp film and they failed miserably. I think Jeff Goldblum is high.

^^ Mae Whitman got duffed out of her role in the first movie. That always sticks with me because of the era we're in, she just missed being empowered I guess, and how obvious it was

It Follows was fresher (6 years younger) and blonder and probably taller/etc...Looks like they were going for like an Ellen Ripley In Love thing with thing that character

3.5/5 Tom's. Nothing will ever beat that one post on the feel good thread. It's still my favorite post in NSBB history.

i'll translate - it was in reply to the post about Independence Day 2 sucking. Mae Whitman was the President/Bill Pullman's daughter in the first one, but recast in the sequel for a more 'suitable' woman in an action movie type. Tom wasn't a fan of the move.

Also Judd Hirsch's caricature of an older Jewish male from NY was pretty racist in both movies. Patrice O'Neal had a great bit on his character, or like the choices he made or the studio made him make who knows, in the first movie

while I get the boards propensity to insult Tom, the fact a plains cowboy wouldn't understand how an older Jewish male from NY's caricature was being portrayed as racist or not wouldn't surprise me in the least

"Judd Hirsch is racist for being Judd Hirsch" is kind of amazing take.

I'll assume he also thought Harvey Firestein was WAY too homophobic, too.

Oh, I'm not saying it was *bad* per se...Would we get Gil Faizon, Ronna and Beverly, and Meet the Fockers without Julius Levinson? I submit that we would not!

Firestein was basically playing a 90's TV gay character scaled up for a movie, I assume

I'm just a flyover-state bumpkin, but even I felt it was appauling the way that actor depicted Walt's son, Flynn, on Breaking Bad. The cadence, using those canes, SOOOO distracting and over the top.

Old news, but I glanced and didn't see anything about this in the thread. If you believe the rumors, there's a new Borat potentially dropping before the election.

It was mentioned in the politics thread when he hijacked some kind of right wing convention with a fake, racist country music act. But yeah, I think it's new here.
