I liked The Revenant more than most, but yeah, I don't know why DiCaprio is getting so much Oscar buzz when half the movie is him grunting, crying in pain, and heavy breathing. You'd think there'd need to be a little more dialogue involved, but I digress.

Charismatic, smartass assassin? Man, WAY outside of his wheelhouse.

Though the dude makes tons of horsefeathers movies. Still can't believe he turned down Django Unchained.

IO9 had a really good article about how BvS looks like typical overly-serious DC stuff, but that everything else DC is doing right now looks different, and unique. Suicide Squad has color, and fun, and doesn't seem to take itself overly serious...not exactly DC trademarks...and is also about a team of bad-guys, which is something really fresh, that Marvel hasn't done. And Wonder Woman, beating Marvel to the "female-led superhero movie" punch, looks like it really gets the character. Honestly, of all the comic book movies headed our way, I think I'm looking forward to WW the most.

No matter what everybody else says, I'm still excited for BvS, but I certainly understand the reservations that people have about it.

I saw that, but I don't know how they're getting that from the SS trailer. What we see just looks REALLY repetitive even in just a couple of minutes; lots of guns, lots of wire-style fighting and some kind of nebulous goo-monster. If that's ultimately a small part of it and most it is watching these ridiculous characters deal with each other, great. If the focus is really forced action, bleh.

I'm just really wary of anything DC these days. Their comics are just so depressing. To me, this doesn't look like much of a break from that at all.

I've heard and read several reviews saying that half of Hardy's dialogue was unintelligible. I've seen it twice now and understood every word. I imagine my experience with being raised in and amongst tobacco chewing rednecks helped out somewhat.

I was not raised with rednecks and I understood him fine as well.

Apparently the filming of that movie was every bit as brutal as it looked, and the director isn't the least bit apologetic about it

They filmed in Calgary for 11 months which guarantees at least half that time being cold as hell. Think of Leo going in water, crawling all across the place ... etc. Must havery been miserable.

Yeah, they didn't fake anything. There are stories that some of the crew/extras voiced complaints about the conditions. Also heard that Leo's beard was flea-infested, but that seems less likely

Holy horsefeathers, that Entourage movie was infinitely worse than I imagined it would be. I couldn't stop watching it because it was getting so progressively bad that I had to see what awfulness was about to come.

Soooooo, fury road? Unique, as far as reboots are concerned. And some interesting stuff. But, good movie? Maybe I needed more cocaine.

It definitely had an amazing look and should probably win all the awards for best heavy metal video. I'm sure it was quite the experience in the theater.

But if that's on the top of so many peoples movies of the year list, it makes me more comfortable having skipped so many other movies.
