David Lowery is a seriously underrated filmmaker, IMO. Ain't Them Bodies Saints and A Ghost Story are two of my favorite films to come out in the last 5 years.

ATBS clearly owes a LOT to Malick, but damn, it's beautiful:

The second half of A Ghost Story was a very interesting and unique take and perspective on the afterlife.

The first half of A Ghost Story was the biggest waste of my time in 2017 and I'll never get that time back.

The part of Al Pacino is actually being played by Silvio from The Sopranos.

Also: check out these horsefeathering lifts for Bobby D.

Saw Molly’s Game this morning and enjoyed it but I did not like Michael Cera at all. Jessica Chastain was fantastic.

Funny story from my showing. Two older ladies were talking about it as they were walking out. One said how much she loved Cera in the movie and then went on to tell the other about how he played Mark Zuckerberg in the Facebook movie. They then wondered aloud if his character in this movie was supposed to be Zuckerberg too. Apparently they missed the part about him being a movie star. Lol.

Saw Crooked House tonight. What would've been an otherwise perfectly acceptable detective whodunit was completely ruined by the hamfisted ending. They spent 1 1/2+ hours building up this whodunit, leaving you to guess more or less up to the near last moments, only to wrap a nice tidy bow on it and then not go any further into the repercussions of the climax which it definitely needed. It was literally "WOW THAT JUST HAPPENED" and then "The End". And I'm not even saying "The End" hyperbolically, it literally said "The End" after the most major moment in the film.

Finally got around to seeing "Get Out". It didn't disappoint.

Didn't realize it had a 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. There is a certain poetic beauty to the fact that Armond White is one of the few negative reviews.

Perhaps

Spoiler: show
A crotchety racist white guy had his consciousness implanted into White's body?

That would explain everything

"Unofficial" because Netflix doesn't release viewer data so basically it's made up.

That is 150,000% made up [expletive].

Cloud Atlas is the #1 movie in Alabama? Yeah, no. Unless this is like an Onion-like gag

Based on what Netflix has come out and said publicly, the actual most streamed movie in most of those states is probably an Adam Sandler movie of some kind.

Advanced tickets for Marvel’s Black Panther went on sale this week and quickly became Fandango’s best-selling tickets to a MCU film to date.

The Disaster Artist was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the size by side scenes with the actual footage of The Room at the end.

PTA's AMA is pretty damn great:

If you could go back, what’s one thing you’d tell yourself while making Magnolia?
