New Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan designs are tops. The new Godzilla is my third favorite look behind the 1989 and 2016 versions. I think we also see Anguiris, Baragon, Varan, Manda, and with all this bioluminescence in the film maybe a really trippy Dogora

Ralph Wrecks the internet was predictable & pointless. The princess scene was the only even remotely original idea.

Ralph was a sympathetic character in the first movie. In the sequel he's just a selfish idiot. The story should have been that the arcade is closing and they have to look for new games. I guess they're saving that for part 3.

Thoughts on Buster Scruggs?

Spoiler: show
- I'd watch an entire Buster Scruggs movie. Tim Blake Nelson rules.
- The Liam Neeson one dragged a bit.
- The finale was the weakest one, although I still enjoyed it.
- I'll watch anything with Stephen Root in it. Glad to see him in the Franco one.
- My favorite and the most compelling was the Oregon Trail story.
- Tom Waits is a treasure. "You didn't hit nothing important!!!!"

Probably the most nihilistic thing I've ever watched, but I enjoyed it.

I liked the Neeson one. That poor legless armless guy pwned.
The finale was actually my favorite. The creepy British bounty killer, again, pwned.
Root rules. My high school friend played the guy that rescued Franco from the noose. He was, to my surprise, actually good! Nearly to pwning level.
Waits was perfect for that role, also awesome.
The Oregon Trail one was fantastic, but brutally sad ending.
I basically liked all of it. The Scruggs or Franco stuff was maybe the weakest, imo.

I still haven't seen any of the avengers movies. I wanted to watch captain america before watching the first one, but by the time I got around to that the 2nd one was already out and then there was already a 2nd captain america and then do I need to see the other iron man? or thor? so I did what any other red white and blue blooded american would do: I gave up

If you have a passing interest, I think you can do this watch order and be fine and get the gist

Avengers 1
Cap 2
Cap 3
Avengers 3

and Thor: Ragnarok because it's really good and a fun movie.

There's a bunch I'd throw in there because I like them; I was thinking along the lines of what someone would "need" to see to get caught up. I think GotG is right up there with BP in that it's real close...but not quite.

I've seen Iron Man 1, Avengers 1 and 3, Guardians and Thor Ragnorak and feel like I haven't missed out on anything. I might have seen an Iron Man sequel at one point.

It's tough to simplify it to a couple of movies. Doctor Strange and Ant-Man and the Wasp would probably help quite a bit with the understanding of Infinity War and (presumably) End Game respectively. They probably belong with Guardians and maybe Black Panther? in the second tier of necessary films to watch. I'd throw Thor Dark World in there but....it's probably just better to explain the concept of the Reality Stone than it is to watch that movie.

In terms of movies you can probably avoid (though I wouldnt avoid all of them because some are pretty good), Incredible Hulk, Thor, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, Guardians 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Ant-Man (would be helpful but most of the concepts are covered in the sequal along with a lot more info about the

It was the only movie before this that had Thanos...explained the relationship between him, Gamora and Nebula...which was a big part of Infinity War.

Technically he was in Avengers 1 though the stuff about his relationships weren't touched upon then. That said, all the movies have at least some info that advances the overarching storyline. If you are just trying to take a crash course, its debatable GOTG is 100% required viewing.

My last argument in favor of Guardians 1 being a must-watch...of all of the Marvel characters introduced in these movies, Guardians are the ones that are the least well known to a common audience. Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Cap...those guys all are at least vaguely familiar to most audiences. Doctor Strange is pretty easy to understand...he's a wizard...got it. Black Panther is Captain America in a cooler suit. But a talking raccoon and a tree-boy are going to be much weirder without some kind of prior context.

I mean, they're still just a talking raccoon and a tree-person in the GotG movies; it's not like there's some big explanation as to who/what they are. They're just gleep-glops in a movie filled with superheroes and wizards and other gleep-glops!
