Adam McKay’s Vice opens in 1963 in Casper, Wyoming, as the young, puffy, and whoopingly drunk Dick Cheney (Christian Bale) is about to be arrested for driving under the influence for the second time in a year. After losing his scholarship to Yale, he has returned to his hometown to work as a lineman for the local power company and the prospects of his future are anything but promising. But then, we flash forward to September 11, 2001, and see Cheney, now well on his way to becoming the most powerful vice president in the history of the United States, as he is being rushed by Secret Service personnel into a bunker under the White House. In short, Vice is asking: How did this guy become the secretive, smirking face of Machiavellian politics in America?

Man, this sounds like it was THIS close to freezing on Cheney, and then we get a, "you're probably wondering, how did *I* get myself in this crazy situation?!?" voiceover.

You're the first person I've heard that didn't like it, tbh.

it exists in that area of movies where i had a decent time watching it but can't really recall anything that happened and in a year or so will probably turn it on and 45 minutes in go "oh yeah i saw this before"

I liked it. I was, however, surprised at how violent it turned out to be. Not a dealbreaker or anything; just wasn't expecting it.

And, honestly, I think it's a better Coen Bros. western than the actual Coen Bros. western.

Watched Gremlins last night. Such a classic. Should it be considered a Christmas movie?

Update, saw Ant Man and Wasp on the plane this morning. I think I’m about 50% on Marvel movies on a plane vs other venue.

I enjoyed the movie but didn’t really get it. They could probably tone down the attempted comedy about a third.

Guessing that you’re talking about Bird Box, and I agree. It felt like some 2nd rate M Night Shamalan movie.

Eh, wasn't sure if that was an full list, or if you'd seen it since that post. Anyway...I can definitely understand why some aspects may have been confusing then.
