From a convenient storytelling perspective he does nicely check the "breaking of the wheel" mold in ways others couldn't have, namely the inability to leave an heir.

They could have (theoretically) had a full season of interesting TV between dany destroying King's Landing and the final resolution of Bran being installed. It was just way too rushed. If ol' Georgie ever finishes the books, I'll be very interested to see how he handles the end and if he can make it work with the extra time and page count.

They would have had to introduce some extra characters earlier to really make it compelling though. Like I cared very little even about Ellaria Sand. And I'm suppposed to care about this Martel prince?

Yeah, probably. I mean, at this point, it's all fan fic, but the existing characters realizing Dany was a nutjob and trying to figure out what to do about it and how to fix it offers a lot of story possibilities. Whatever, i hated the end, nothing to do about it now.

All of your statements should end with question marks.

So you think good dramatic structure is to slowly plod along until the climax of the story, and then....slowly plod along through that as well? Literally no good movies/TV shows do this

I'm not sure there was like a full extra season to deal with it. Obviously they could have tried to introduce some other plot twist or something to stall it out, but I think the story was due for a little breaknecking pace.

If Dany had managed to get over in like Season 5, you could have had a lot more time to mess around with some compelling Westerosi intrigue on that level. As it was, we got like the speed dating version of dealing with Danys Westeros reign. Like it hit the big points quickly... Maybe her story deserved more, but that seems like just as much of a source issue problem, and I think the rest of Westeros's action would have felt dragged to allow for that interpersonal drama.

I kinda wanted to see Drogon flamebreath Jon, so we could see if he was fireproof like Dany.

Don't the Dothraki follow whomever is able to kill the Khal? So wouldn't they be loyal to Jon now? random dumb thought...

they only follow people on a horse and all these potential spent far too much time walking on their own feet.

maybe bran could convince them his wheelchair was a westerosi horse or something though

Or warg into their horses and start giving some swift kicks to the temples of some unsespecting dothraki.

Great line I just heard about how odd that last scene was with the small council: “it was like an ad for Pizza Hut where they get all the actors to do it in character”

Lapkus and Gabrus (Raised by TV) do a first and last thing where they watch shows pilots and finale that they never watched (Lapkus was the only one who never saw it). Today they are doing Game of Thrones, and the guest is Sean Clements. This is going to be fun and infuriating.

https://ew.com/tv/2019/05/21/maisie-wil ... son-regret

Maisie Williams wrote:“I wanted Arya to kill Cersei,” she said. “Even up to the point when Cersei’s with Jaime I thought, ‘He’s going to whip off his face [and reveal its Arya]’ and they’re both going to die. I thought that’s what Arya’s drive has been.”

Headey said she hoped she’d have a scene with Williams in the final season as well.

“I lived that fantasy until I read the script,” Headey said. “There were chunky scenes and it was nothing that I had dreamt about. It was a bit of come down and you have to accept that it wasn’t to be. There is something poetic about the way it all happens in the end with her and Jaime.”
