I've not had that happen, but he sends me to the same half dozen or so settlements repeatedly. You end up clearing the same place or rescuing the same settler from the same group like a dozen times. I think they should have set it up so once you fortify a settlement to certain degree, they just get left alone. It's kind of ridiculous how a settler will get kidnapped from a settlement with like 150+ defense.

But Bethesda likes at least one set of infinitely spawning quests. They did the same thing in Skyrim, though not in such an aggressive way.

Tinker Tom will send you to put endless radio arrays up too. I wish it was more clear which quests were limitless

Tinker Tom actually stops. It's like 9 or 10 of them.

Definitely liking Syndicate better than Unity so far. The two character dynamic is interesting (especially since they level up individually, so you have to split time with them if you don't want one to fall behind), and they haven't mired it in some lame revenge story (so far).

Here's something else that can help with that: after completing one of his mission objectives, and you get the "Talk to Preston Garvey" prompt, you don't actually have to return to him to get the mission completion and XP. If you just go on about your business for a while (a long while), the mission completion will trigger on its own. That way you can avoid him assigning you another one.

That is provided you avoid him, of course.

Spoiler: show
And the Castle, if/when you get Radio Freedom up and running. Being at the Castle or listening to Radio Freedom will auto assign those repeating quests.

Like I said before, I took him to a really out of the way outpost and left him there. Peace of mind.

I just randomly wandered the Wasteland with no fast travel yesterday and discovered some cool random missions and whatnot. Using fast travel too much was hurting my enjoyment of the game quite a bit.

One of my biggest gaming shames is not getting to Mass Effect 3 yet. Looks like I at least have another year to get caught up. I've been playing a lot of 360 bc and want to get to some of the newer titles, and Dark Souls 3 is coming out soon. Not to mention I haven't touched Fallout 4 yet.

I'm currently playing Witcher 2 due to the free download and enjoying it thoroughly. I've beat one of the main 2 paths and am halfway through the other. I'm glad Microsoft rolled out the BC titles, I had a lot of catching up to do.

I've played none of the Mass Effect games, though all three are sitting in my basement with my 360, collecting dust

I got the Mass Effect games in a deal at some point, and have never ever been able to get into them.

I've only played ME3. It was a good game but I know that I missed a lot of the nuances by picking up the series so late.

That's unfortunate. I can see how the first one could be a little hard to get into at first, but the second one is like top 10 of all time good. The trilogy as a whole is essential gaming, imo.

this looks incredible. leaning towards purchasing it this weekend since i'm a sucker for puzzle games.

sidenote: a week into owning a ps4 and it's been a blast. there's some players in star wars: battlefront that absolutely kick the horsefeathers out of everyone on each map. i never used the online capabilities on the other two battlefront games, so playing online with a crew of randoms is totally new to me. as of this morning, i'm at rank 22 and have all of the guns outside of the dl-44 and some solid star cards, but i'm normally in the middle of the pack after a battle ends as far as scores go.

I don't have my saves from 1 & 2 anymore, so I'm expecting some disappointment in this area as well.

Perhaps more than any game franchise I can think of, playing all of them in order is critical to getting the most out of it.

The first mass effect is pretty tough to get into, but I enjoyed it regardless.

The second one is one of my favorite games ever. Fell head over heels for the characters in that game. (Looking at you Tali)

Third one was fun but... (insert generic disappointment over the ending here).

Also, yes to really have as many options open to you as possible you gotta play all three. Makes it feel more worthwhile if you have the time, but obviously takes a lot longer.

Man, the Phantom Pain really becomes a slog as you trudge towards the end. The second half of the game is a lot of the same missions with harder tweaks and it's starting to get pretty boring.

The gameplay is excellent, immensely enjoyable and smooth in all aspects. But the overall package feels rushed and incomplete. Very little story to keep you engaged like past Metal Gears. I think it's probably one of the five best games of the year and also one of the most disappointing, somehow.

So I'm playing vampire the masquerade for the first time. Just finished the ocean hotel quest. I've never been that terrified in my entire life. I was so tensed up the whole time, from the moment the freaking light bulb popped outside the front door. I can't stop thinking about it, but I also never want to go in there again. Absolutely one of my favorite levels from any game ever, but yeesh playing it alone with a headset in the dark: not recommended for the easily spooked.
