I've never tried it in all the years I've played the game. Do you actually play the games against other people, or do the games sim based on the team you've put together?

You play other people or the computer (to complete challenges)

Gotcha. I feel like sports online play is still plagued with lag and/or cheaters and/or people who quit when they're losing, so I stopped trying

I never had a prob w/that on MLB. It's always smooth and honestly it's surprisingly fun.

plus the fact that you dont NEED to play other people to complete challenges is a bonus for me. and it sounds like they're making more dynamic challenges throughout the year. i'm stoked for it.

there's different modes in diamond dynasty for whether or not you want to play against a human opponent. there's a section called EXTRA INNINGS where you can have your diamond dynasty team play someone else's created team but their team is controlled by the computer/AI. for example, a user created a team full of common-level catchers rated 68 or below playing out of position and the worst starting pitchers and relievers he could find. most players play against this team in order to complete missions that would otherwise take forever/near impossible to complete while playing against skilled players or actual computer controlled MLB teams. i played against the team (named the yukon yetis) multiple times in order to get the rewards and finish the missions needed to obtain the 99 rated mariners alex rodriguez card.

battle royale is a horsefeathering blast, too. you pay 1,500 stubs to draft 25 players and play 3-inning games against other human opponents. you're allowed 1 diamond card, 2-3 gold cards, 5 silver cards, 15-18 bronze cards and the rest of your roster is allotted to common cards. most people stack their bullpens with silver and gold relievers while relying on switch hitters to offset LOOGY and select pitching match-ups. you're awarded cards based on how many wins you're able to achieve before losing 2 total games against your opponents. awards are given for every 3 wins up to 12 and some of the best cards in the game are awarded at 20 wins (2004 carlos beltran has been the top card for the last 2-3 months or so).

I would but I've got a bunch of coupons and gift cards, etc. that would make the game essentially free if I buy it at work.....if we ever get it in

I never played any of the Souls games (or Bloodborne), so this style of game is challenging. It's unforgiving, and the check points are somewhat scarce, so there is a lot of dying and having to retrace your path again.

That's pretty much Dark Souls.

Yeah, that's what it's being compared to the most. I've replayed this same village probably 20 times now. So brutal

Games like that are so foreign to me. I know lots of people love them but it just sounds miserable.

It's actually quite rewarding when you accomplish something, it just forces you to get better in order to move on.

I came for the RPG, stayed for the trolling potential.

The invasion mechanic is just so awesomely unique and fun. In addition, the difficulty of the game seems like so much more than just cranking up hp and number of enemies. The games demoralize you in increasingly ironic ways. Even if you don't think you're on tilt, you can see that you are.
