Do you also hate movie trailers then?

Eh movies are 2 hours long. A good game will be hours and hours of entertainment to look forward to.

As far as RDR2...that trailer kinda underwhelmed me, tbh. I never finished RDR, but none of the characters in that trailer looked nearly as interesting or compelling as Marston.

A fair judgement off a 90 sec trailer, I'm sure.

I played it for a while...but like all Rockstar games...I eventually moved on to something else. I don't think I've finished any of the GTA games either.

I'm tempering my enthusiasm about, well, every video game since I'm finding myself with almost no time to play them anymore. I'll probably have a backlog that I'll slam through this summer

I'm way, way late to this one... but X-Com 2 was great. Lots more variety than the previous game.

I bought it when it came out, but my computer couldn't play it. But it appears their patches improved performance on crappy machines, and I was finally able to. I haven't tried the War of the Chosen DLC yet -- I'll wait and get that when the price drops.

There was a bit of a learning curve with the Avatar Project and new way the map works, but once I got the hang of it I liked it quite a bit.

RDR was a game that I bought, played a bit, got bored, then moved on. Several months later I went back to it, and I was suddenly obsessed with it.

It's one of the only sandbox games where I would (and still do, from time to time) play it just to explore around its world.

I've always said I would've played it more on PC since I play a lot more PC games than console. But really, that's probably a lie. I put quite a few hours into GTA V on PC, but never finished it so....

I got halfway through GTA5 and stopped, but that's the only GTA I didn't finish. I still go back once in a blue moon and play San Andreas, though. Still the best GTA. Except for that David Cross RC plane mission.

And like Derwood, I played RDR, got a little bit in, quit, then picked it up later and went berzerk on it.

Hooray!

https://kotaku.com/players-slam-classic ... 1819119328

Do you have fond memories of playing the 2005 version of Star Wars: Battlefront 2? Do you wish with every fiber of your being that it had official online servers again? Well then, good news: your wish just came true, somehow.

On both Steam and GOG, the PC version of the original Battlefront 2 has been updated with 64-player online multiplayer support and crossplay, so that you can battle or just front (if you’re not good at battling but want people to believe you are) with friends on either platform.

While Disney, the game’s current publisher, didn’t say precisely why it decided to do this, odds are good that it’s a promotional thing for Star Wars: Battlefront II, EA’s new-gen Battlefront game that’s coming out next month and having a beta this week. It’s a pretty neat promotional thing, though, given how much people adore the first Battlefront 2, which is regarded by some as the best multiplayer Star Wars ever.

So, someone explain this to me like I'm the idiot I am (and because I've never used Steam or GOG): would I be able to play this online again using my old physical PC copy? Or do I have to buy the Steam or GOG version?

Super Mario Odyssey, Assassin's Creed Origins, and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus all being released tomorrow and all being extremely well reviewed across the board.

I think I'll pick up Wolfenstein tomorrow...will save Mario as a xmas gift "for the kid"...and grab AC:O when it's on sale at some point.

My gaming time is so limited that I’m having to strategize game purchases this fall. I just picked up the South Park game, but that won’t take very long, so then it becomes a “what next” question. I liked the first Wolfenstein, but got bored with it by the end (same with the first Mordor game, which is why I haven’t bought the new one). I’ll probably go with AC, but closer to December (when I’ll have three weeks off and can dive into a longer game)

The Kotaku review of the new AC game didn't make me want to buy it.

Yeah, but that's the worst review it's gotten.

EDIT: They added a few reviews since I'd last seen it...but still...it's generally well reviewed.

The AC games simply are what they are; beautiful travelogues to explore with some murder mixed in. Just wait for the price to go down/bugs to be patched.
