I just started playing Rocket League for PS4. Its a game i had heard was really fun but never really gave much thought until recently. This is probably one of the most fun and addicting games ive ever played...even though im garbage at it.

Man, I finally pitched a perfect game in Rtts; Opening Day for the Cubs in 2022, no less. Granted, it was against the shambling monstrosity that is the Reds, who have literally no real life players besides 38-year-old Joey Votto as their #3 hitter, but still! A perfect game, on HoF level with 10 k's and less than 90 pitches is pretty damn impressive. So I figured I was gonna get a decent training point bonus; maybe 500, maybe even a grand! Instead I got...nothing? There was a bonus for pitching a complete game and a shutout and a few other standard bonuses, but as far as I could tell, I got nothing extra for pitching a horsefeathering PERFECT GAME. The announcers kept acknowledging it, so it's not like the game was just ignoring it...as best as I can guess, it must have been because it went into the bottom of the 9th tied 0-0 and then the Cubs won it via a walkoff dong by the non-Rizzo bum first baseman, but it still counts, dammit!

Oh, and this Cubs team is a NIGHTMARE. The team's offensive core is an OK Russell, an OK Baez, an inexplicably average Bryant, a slightly above average Heyward, and the desiccated corpses of Charlie Blackmon and Evan Longoria. What the eff.

Yeah rocket league is fantastic. The skill ceiling is nigh unlimited too. You can always keep practicing new things and it's really easy to see it convert into better performance in games.

Man, it's been too long since there was a great WW2 FPS. The new CoD is hopefully looking like it'll be a blast:

I want to believe it will be good, but I've read that the beta is a mess

Well, that's why it's a beta.

I haven't read a ton of reviews for it, but the ones I have seen seem pretty favorable.

I'm reading spawns are terrible (but they have been for a decade) and that it's nothing but drop-shotting and quick-scoping. In other words, people saw WWII and were somehow hoping CoD would stop being CoD.

I mean, that's just what these games are. Personally, I don't play a ton of multiplayer so I'm more interested in the singleplayer campaign.

This is where I'm at, I know everything has gone multiplayer/online but give me the single player campaign all day.

Yep, single player forever. Which is why I'm way more excited about Wolfenstein 2, tbh.

Yeah, I've definitely enjoyed multiplayer games in the past, and like playing ones where I can play mostly with people I actually know and will tolerate how I play. Basically there's a pretty hard ceiling to how good I'll get at any given game, and in most multiplayer frag fests I don't stand a chance. If it's some kind of team-based, objective-based mission? Great, I can play a role. Just trying to survive/get the most kills? I'm done, no matter how well I do at the single-player.

Yep, if I can maintain a K/D around 1.00, that's really good. I never have been not never will be the guy who goes 25-5 every round

True enough. I should go find some youtube videos of the beta and see how it looks

My daughter's middle school had a Minecraft night where they LAN partied twenty kids. They put them into a world with a village next to a volcano, and they had 45 minutes to team up to protect the village. Within two minutes, the kids collectively decided "horsefeathers the village" and built an underground bunker to save themselves

In the upcoming South Park: Fractured But Whole game, difficulty settings are associated with your skin color.

Image

Ubisoft said they were told the difficulty of the game affects the amount of money you receive and the way other characters speak to you throughout the course of the game.
During the difficulty selection Eric Cartman will comment: "Don't worry, this doesn't affect combat. Just every other aspect of your whole life."

I hate video game trailers because now I'm so amped up for RDR2 and I have to wait several months for it. Or I see the Assassins Creed Origins trailers and it looks like a game changing next step for the franchise but I know I'll buy it and it will end up being the same boring AC game play but now in Egypt. Or finally you will see a first trailer for Last of Us 2 and it will be a year later and there has been no new news for it.
