i would say you should pre-order it but that wouldn't be fair to the people waiting in line at the store when it's released

There's an RPG coming out in July for Switch called Octopath Traveler and I'm really intrigued by this art style...

Reminds me in a way of final fantasy tactics.

Monster Hunter World is very complicated but also fun when you get the hang of it.

Except for these optional bosses that you have to fight if you want to Platinum the game. The whole game is tough but fair, but these bosses are straight up Dark Souls level of frustrating

Started up Far Cry 5 a few days ago. It’s disappointing that they really didn’t change it at all from 3 or 4. The perk system is a little different, but otherwise it’s the exact same game in a different map.

They also pushed the story way more towards the religious cult narrative and away from the right wing/libertarian narrative. It’s more Branch Davidians than it is Bundy ranchers

Bethesda seems set to announce something signififcant Fallout related. They've been running a Twitch stream with a bobblehead in the foreground and a monitor with the "Please Stand By" screen in the background. BGS employees wander into frame from time to time to drop clues.

Seems like it's going to be a Fallout 3 remaster, or something else Fallout 3 related, unless many of their clues are misdirection.

Based on Bethesda's marketing M.O., well find out something more later today.

It'll be a remaster, or something for Switch, or both

So yeah, it's a new game. Set well before the original Fallout (25 years after the bombs), enough that most of the usual Fallout factions wouldn't have been formed yet. Rumor is that it might have an online component (I really hope it doesn't, and the rumors make me less excited), and will be a survival game. Like exiting the Vault and beginning the early effort to reclaim the wasteland. Vault 76 has been mentioned in previous games, and is at least in the area of DC (eastern West Virginia, if the song choice is any clue).

Hopefully, there is still a remaster of Fallout 3 (and/or New Vegas) coming, especially since getting the original to run of PCs has become an exercise in frustration. The 10th anniversary of Fallout 3 is this year, so it would make sense (and they were obviously trying to make people think that is what today's announcement was going to be. The lead up to today's teaser was way too much to have been to announce a port, and a new Fallout title was totally unexpected. It's also worth mentioning that Fallout 76 is being developed by BGS, and is not being handed off to a third party (a la New Vegas).

Bethesda seems primed to have a big E3. Rumor has it a totally new IP will be announced, among other things.

A plug for my Son's video game, Toontown Rewritten. It's also a great bit of nostalgic video game fun. We went last year and they had lots of cool old games like Gauntlet. All you can play for $25 or whatever the cost of the ticket is this year.

I'm gonna go against the grain and predict you're actually a college student at Michigan State this time around. It's gonna be pretty boring, probably.
