I’m playing Borderlands 3 and, so far, it’s not nearly as fun as the first two games. It’s trying, but it feels flat. Hoping it gets better

I had this feeling playing through the campaign. I feel like it gets better once you hit max level and start getting better and more interesting loot. The story is painful.

This new SW game is pretty great, but man, I SUCK at it. Even with the difficulty turned down, it's really stepping up how bad I am at most video games.

It's stupid hard. I turned it all the way down to story mode difficulty.

So over the weekend my Roku 3 freaked out and wouldn't boot up anymore. It was the older of the two I had, and while annoying, wasn't the end of the world.

Turns out though...it was because my son was playing Pokemon Shield on the Switch...wtf??

Speaking of streaming services and video games, does anyone know if YouTubeTV and other streaming services are going to be available on PS4 now that PS Vue is dead?

Definitely a lot more fun after completing the first vault. I have two completely OP legendary weapons that I'm wrecking shop with

Looks like MLB: The Show is going multi-platform in 2021.

I never play enough of sports games for them to be worth the price, but this is very good news. Sports games shouldn't be exclusive to a single console.

Baez being on the cover of the next one is pretty hilarious given how this offseason seems to be shaping up.

If they don't get the exclusive titles, it will be another tough run. Sure, they sold a ton of Xbox One consoles (gamers are loyal), but Playstation crushed them on exclusives

The backwards compatibility is a really big deal. Like if you offered me a deal to give up God Of War, Horizon, and Spiderman for the ability to play PS1-3 games on my PS4, I'd think pretty hard on it.

Isn't the PS5 going to be finally backwards compatible, too?

I think so.

Sony and Microsoft’s console hardware has been (and will continue to be) nearly identical generation to generation, so the differentiators will be online features/cost and exclusive titles.

Microsoft did make a huge play by buying up a ton of top end indie developers to broaden out their exclusives lineup. Obviously they don't make as much money as AAA titles, but it effectively removed really popular indie titles from Sony's lineup and that's a big deal to a lot of people. Also with Microsoft starting to become cross compatible with PC's they're only getting more versatile to gamers.

Wow, I had no idea the gulf between Xbox and PS sales on the last generation was so steep:

And there's Nintendo seemingly nipping at Microsoft's heels. Ouch.

That's mostly because XBox has never been very popular around the globe. If you look at just the USA sales PS4 still has a clear lead, but it's a much more reasonable one.

That's also the reason for a chart like this: the best selling consoles of all time has 4 Sony consoles, two Nintendo ones, and only one Microsoft one, and that one ended up as the bottom of the bunch (other than the Switch, whose line ends early since it hasn't had as long of lifespan as the others on the chart, but it would be shocking if the Switch ends up selling less than the 360 did):

Finished Borderlands 3 (and the final boss was insanely easy, WTF) and have no desire to do all the side-missions. The game just pales in comparison to 1 and 2.

Started up Jedi: Fallen Order and am really looking forward to digging in

I finished fallen order over the holidays and thought it was great. The criticism that I have seen that the campaign is short (25-30 hours) was actually a positive for me.

The map system is confusing as hell. I have no idea where I've been or what's still unexplored

Maybe it’s because I just came from BL3, where it was ultra clear (as the map actively “de-dogs” as you traverse it).

I’m only on the first planet and couldn’t tell you which areas I need to go back to to scan/discover everything

I thought it was a little annoying too. With all the levels and the different way they connected, it was sometimes hard to see where the right path was. Also, without fast travel, getting back to the ship was sometimes a slog. Especially on Zeffo.
