So I've changed my theory on Kim.

Spoiler: show
I no longer think he's going to ruin her life. I think she's going to ruin his.

I wasn't even referring to you, just the people who keep saying/writing "we know she's not around". They base it on the fact that she's not seen or heard from in Breaking Bad, which I find bizarre. The show was about Walt and the people in his life. She very easily could have been around. It's not like Saul is going to great lengths to pretend he was never Jimmy. He admits to it in the show and stays in the same small town he started his law career with an apparent side trip to Santa Fe mixed in and he is spending time with at least one guy who knows him as both names.

http://www.avclub.com/video/when-better ... re--232665

Here's another example of somebody saying "obviously we know Kim doesn't exist" once Jimmy becomes Saul.

Going back to what the actress said, about how we only saw Saul in specific circumstances directly related to the Walter White story; there is a huge possibility for all of these people to still be around and in the background of the character's life, that we never had a chance to see before.

yeah...i think you have to be somewhat of an idiot to think that these people couldn't exist at the same time the breaking bad stuff was going on...as though walter, jesse, and mike were the only people he was regularly in contact with.

Again, it would make sense that he's still involved with some of the people of BCS; it would just be lame if the series right now is only building to BB and nothing really changes outside of him changing his name to Saul and setting up his practice instead of building to its own thing as a climax pre-BB. It would be really surprising if it doesn't build to something the leads to Jimmy breaking from or losing people close to him, and Kim is the prime candidate to be the source of such a dramatic moment (with Check as a close second). If the end result is just, "hey, during BB everything was the same, you just didn't see it!" it would be pretty boring.

Unless the idea is to have BCS's climax happen during BB's timeframe, which seems a bit dicey. I'd rather it focus on before and after BB and be its own thing.

I hope the last season is nothing but Saul coming home to Kim and going, "you won't BELIEVE what White and his little stoner buddy had me do TODAY!!!"

This is a real attorney who plays ads during BCS. I get fooled into thinking they're a part of the show every time.

I think it would be awesome if they re-filmed a scene from BB from Saul's perspective. Maybe the very first meeting when he thought they were going to kill him.

An episode of Saul sitting in the back of the RV with a pillowcase over his head? THE MOST BOTTLE-IEST BOTTLE EPISODE EVER.

First, Walter came into the office and pretended he was Badger's uncle.

It was like old home week. Krazy 8! Jim Beaver! Tuco!

Nice world-building, too; re-watching BB it's not exactly clear why Jessie had no idea who Tuco was and how it seemed like Krazy 8 was a bigger player than this guy with cartel connections. Him just getting out jail for kicking Mike's ass is a great retcon.

Though I don't know if it counts as a retcon since we knew he was in jail with Skinny Pete; we just didn't know when. Either way, I really liked it.

Such a great episode.

Side question. On another board I frequent there is a ridiculously long & contentious argument over Mike's DIL and her motives. Some people think she is just suffering through PTSD-like symptoms & imagining the gunshots. The other group is convinced that she is deceiving Mike & using him to get into a better living situation. What say you geniuses of NSBB?

I hadn't even thought that she might be trying to manipulate Mike; I just figured she was stressed and on edge and was imagining things. That would be an interesting twist.

Both possibilities crossed my mind. Not really sure.
