I think it is; if something like key lime or coconut creme or what have you counts, then so should cheesecake. It has the same type of crust, and is basically just a pie without a top layer of crust like the aforementioned pies. It's just named incorrectly, probably because a "cheesepie" doesn't sound very appealing.

no, it's the best. it used to be completely different, and i was distraught when they changed it... and then i tried the new version and loved it 98% as much. i have invented legitimate-sounding reasons to go to the suburbs so i can have it.

i don't really like whipped cream, and now it's so easy to remove! bakers square gets me.

Yes, David, a pizza pie is also a pie. That was a poor re-direct.

it was a joke, dummy

and nomenclature aside, very few people would consider that a pie in the vein that's being discussed here, you big boob

otherwise everyone here would have answered pizza, because there is no other answer if pizza qualifies

Pizza is just a given as the ultimate pie, though. It was understood that this thread was about everything else.

Me, I'm gonna go with the outrageously delicious Guinness pie as the next best:

Dessert pies? Dutch apple all the way.

Based just off of "pie" being in the name or whatever, I'd take Shepherds Pie over pizza. I'm just not that big into Italian food and love potatoes.

Additional rule: you have to have one or the other. The only exception is you have an amazing board name. davell, I'm looking at you; put up a [expletive] avatar or something if your name only sounds like somebody tried say Dave as they lapsed into a coma.

It's not just the name; if a shepherd's pie isn't a pie, then what is it?

Delicious, that's what. All of the savory pies; cottage, corned beef, chicken pot...

I think its a hot dog.

At any rate, I horsefeathering love them. And yeah, those others too. I'd take them over pizza too.

ehh, i think that depends on what quality defines a pie. if it's a pastry crust, then cheesecake is definitely not pie

is ice cream cake "cake"?

NO. a hot dog is still a hot dog if there's no bread. a slice of ham isn't still a sandwich if you take the bread away. plus you can make a hot dog sandwich and it's not redundant

I think just a pie-style crust, period, makes something a pie.

is ice cream cake "cake"?

Don't ice cream cakes have actual cake in them? I haven't eaten one since I was 5 because I'm a human being with rational thought.

I've never eaten a Chicago style hot dog, mainly due to not liking tomatoes(and pickles aren't my favorite thing either).....But because of all the stuff on them, is one enough for a meal? Or do you still get two?

not the ones i've had. it's just layers of ice cream. it's like the go-to desert for birthdays in my office. no lactose-tolerant rational person is presented with the option to eat an ice cream cake and is like "pass" because that is a bad life decision

hmm. in meal form, you eat two. but i actually prefer them more as like a grazing thing at the game or whatever to sate a hunger pain and/or put some firmament in my stomach to slow the rush of alcoholic beverage to my bloodstream. plus i usually get to regale someone in a seinfeldian what's the deal with celery salt monologue
