Great scene that would have completely stopped everything that was going on at that time dead in the water. I both wish it was in there and totally understand why it was cut.

On the one hand: yet another white dude getting handed the rein to a SW property.
On the other hand: Favreau has kind of quietly built himself as really reliable filmmaker who can handle well both blockbusters and much smaller, more personal films (and we'll just pretend like the outlier of Cowboys & Aliens didn't happen), and is a really good pick to spearhead something like this.

Yeah, you're right on both points but this is really disappointing. Remember Kennedy proclaiming how they wanted to get women involved in more creative roles?

Wasn't Favreau a big part of getting the MCU franchises off the ground?

He directed the first Iron Man, so yes.

And IM2 (which I really like, dammit).

I can't wait to get the blue ray and compare the two scenes. I think I like the deleted one better as it opens up more possibilities exploring the psychology of the First Order along the lines of what they did in the most recent Thrawn book.
What would a Star Wars movie from the perspective of the Empire/ First Order look like?

Disney Star Wars has really hit the sweet spot of pissing the most amount of people off as possible by being too diverse in the cast (of course these people are terrible) and not diverse enough creatively.

During the Walk of Fame ceremony, Hamill expressed his "gratitude, [his] joy and the exhilaration", for the honour, joking: "I haven't been speechless since Force Awakens.
"[Ford] gave me the great advice, 'Hey, kid, Don't get cocky.' And I have tried to remember that to this very day."

I remember some lame marching band, probably Ohio State, doing a Star Wars show back in the day. They were using their baton's as light sabers but holding them on both ends for some dumb reason.

As a graduate of The Ohio State University (we are contractually obligated to include, "The" with the t capitalized), I can assure you that the jugheads in Columbus are more proud of that horribly robotic band than they are their children. They simply call it TBDBIL (the best damn band in the land). A buckeye is a poisonous nut.

One of my roommates at Illinois played Trumpet for the Marching Illini. He used to rant about how overrated the Biggest damn band in the land was.

I’m on about my 7th viewing of TLJ and I just came to the realization that the opening bombing scene is ridiculous. Bombs don’t fall in 0 gravity. I’m kind of pissed right now. Mostly at myself for noticing.

There’s also no sound in space.

Rian Johnson gave a reasonably detailed explanation about how that worked.
But it really doesn't need one. They weren't truly in space. If there was no friction for those bombs, the planet below would have had enough of a gravitational pull to get them going.

They were special space bombs, made for use in space by space people, for space people.

It always cracks me up when someone decides that one part of SW's completely nonsense sense of physics/science/etc. is a bridge too far.
ANYWAY...it's TLJ Physical Media Day for us old folks who still hoard such antiques. I'm gonna go with the Best Buy edition for the steelbox.

Despite this being in French, the proposed theory is easy enough to deduce, and I think should be immediately declared to be canon:
