What's the difference between the steel book and the plain old blu ray dvd combo pack?

The case and you get the first ever SW film in 4k. As far as I can tell all of the bonus features are the same (minus the mini book Target includes with their BR).

Thanks. I bought one for my 9 YO for Easter. Can't wait to watch it with him. How many times will you watch it before you start FFW through the casino scene?

This is every bit as credible as the various Star Wars fan theories that float around occasionally.

That scene took a lot less time when I watched it at home. Over the long weekend I watched all of the bonus materials. I think I liked the original opening better. It had sort of a 2001 feel to it.

Chewie is going to steal that show. He's way more in the action in that trailer than he has been in any other movie.

Funniest complaint I've hard about this movie (from dumb comments on social media) is that the guy playing Solo "is going to suck because he needed an acting coach on set"

First of all, actors like Gary Oldman have acting coaches on set, so that's just dumb to start.

Second, his acting coach is HARRISON horsefeathering FORD

The worst kinds of SW fans have been losing their minds over Ehrenreich the whole time. They talk like they essentially want the acting equivalent of Rich Little playing the character in that they think it's critical that whoever plays Han has to look and act and sound EXACTLY like Ford, which is insane. I've inexplicably seen the same YouTube clip of some nobody actor doing a Ford impression that would maybe crack a few people up at a party as somebody they keep screeching "would have been perfect to play Solo!"

And yet they declare that Donald Glover is perfect for Lando, despite that Glover doesn't really looks, sound or act much like Billy Dee Williams in what we've seen. And yeah, he's perfect because he's Donald horsefeathering Glover, but it kinda reads, like, "yeah, whatever; they got a handsome, charming black guy. That's enough."

It's just yet another example of, "the only thing SW fans love more than SW is hating SW."

Everything I've seen Glover in, he has the charisma necessary to pull off Lando. Nothing I've seen Ehrenreich in convinces me he has the charisma to pull of Han Solo. You're reaching too much on that one.

It may all work fine. I am one of those who is a bit afraid that I'll love everything about the movie except for Ehrenreich's performance. But I loved TLJ, so I'm not one of the fans that just loves to hate SW.

My last stream of consciousness thought on this is that I may be selling Alden short based on the fact that the only thing I've ever seen him in he was supposed to be playing a wooden, dumb-ass actor who couldn't adapt to a new kind of role.

There's zero reason to think he CAN'T pull it off outside of pointlessly assuming the worst. Like, why would they inexplicably cast a charisma-free, charmless actor to anchor their Han Solo movie? It's not like it's like it's hopelessly out of touch prequel-era Lucas casting these things; they've repeatedly knocked it out of the park with the actors they've brought in for these new films. It's more of the dumb, hyper-critical hand wringing that the worst kind of SW fans love to do for no reason other than to complain about SW, especially since they're mostly complaining about him not "sounding like Han."

i can't believe how many star wars fans actually think that youtube guy should have gotten the role. then again, harrison ford was pretty bad in the originals.

I think a lot of that can be attributed to Lucas' directing which consisted mostly of just telling the actors to say their lines "Faster, more intense". The performances get better in Empire and ROTJ.

More to the point though, In New Hope Han Solo is a mid 30s guy that's pretty jaded. Shouldn't the early 20s version be a lot different in mannerisms, things he like to say and basically the way he carries himself?

Something else I've been thinking about: how much does the success of this movie affect the casting for the proposed Indiana Jones reboot? If people hate this guy for not being Harrison Ford as Han Solo what does that say about whether they'll hate a different guy for not being Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones?

He's perfect for the role in ANH, and he's still good, IMO, in ESB (though the character kinda just stalls until TFA); RotJ is where he's just obviously and completely checked out.
