You’re wrong. It’s gross. And overpriced. The cheese is an abomination.

Nah, it was fine.

Lol. It’s probably good toasted with cheese, but soggy and cheeseless is how they made it at my grandparents’ restaurant when I was growing up.

Oh, trust me; I was shamed plenty of times when I lived in Chicago because of how normal this is there. While I could kinda understand the hot dog condiment fascism, the idea of shunning delicious toasted bread and melted cheese on a sandwich is something I could never wrap my brain around.

That horsefeathers fine on a Quiznos sub, but if I’m at Al’s, i want it dripping in au jus and the bun to hold together just long enough to get the whole beautiful grastono-mystic being into my belly. Cheese just binds horsefeathers up in this case, and toasting the bun does nothing. So why bother

It is supremely Chicago to yearn for a giant sandwich to be constructed in such way that in encourages the person eating it to frantically cram it down their throat as fast as possible.

Toasting the bun would make it more resilient to turning to doughy mush when you dip it

Yes, I get it; I figured it would be clear that I'm not a fan of eating a sandwich with the consistency of water-dunked hot dog #56 sliding down Joey Chestnut's gullet. I'll stick with sandwiches of a less slimy construction.

Yeah...I'll cast a pro-"cheese and non-soaked bun" vote as well.
