We have one near our house too, and it's pretty good

I swear Papa John's used to be decent for a national chain. I remember when I was living in northern VA in the early 2000's having it for the first time and really liking it. Granted, I was in a pizza wasteland (it's a little better these days), plus Pizza Hut sucked as always and Domino's was at its absolute worst before they tried to fix themselves several years later. Little Caesar's had seemingly vanished altogether, so outside of getting a frozen pizza, Papa John's had a brief period where I genuinely liked it. I thought the crust and toppings were HUGELY better than the other chains, and to the point that when I was back in the area as late as 2007 visiting family I remember thinking, "oh, nice, Papa John's!" when I found out they had ordered it one night. And then it arrived, and it was all rubbery and bland there was no looking back. I'm pretty sure it was always like that, and I was just young and full of booze and other things to the point that anything edible was OK.

Just looking at their website, it looks kinda like Blaze Pizza.

The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.

Blaze is a ripoff of MOD tho.

Are either any good? I've seen both around...

During a "Not For Women Only" panel discussion, former Cubs pitcher Mike Bielecki asked several players to invent a baseball catch phrase for Viagra. Theriot's ad campaign: "Viagra -- I always play hard."

There's a couple Mod Pizzas near me, but I've never tried it. Looking at the menu and the Yelp pics, it looks like a cooked version of what I could get at the very much missed Homemade Pizza Co.; I'll definitely have to give them a try.

Should've added an oxford comma. I assumed the thread title was about the founder of Pieology.

In the worst namedrop of all time, Mod's owner is a goofball too.

Back on topic, how do you let a frozen pizza stay in your freezer long enough to get freezer burned? That's gone within a couple days of the grocery trip.

I was in Napa this weekend and had a lot of conversations about pizza and red wine. You would have loved it, Tim.
