I don't actually have any idea how good these players will be but defense is dumb and pointless.

I really loved Roquan Smith going in to the draft. Might not be the flashiest or best guy but he’s really good and an animal.

A small linebacker. This guy better be ridiculously good to justify the pick.

the offensive options are supposed to he pretty similar between this spot and 39.

LB isn't quite a premium position is my bigger issue, though if he really is the next Keuchley then it can be.

So Smith's upside is Lavonte David/healthy Shazier?

Roquan is a pretty nice defensive player at a position of greater need than Fitzpatrick but I really like Fitzpatrick. He better not end up a Packer.

I like Smith a bunch. Would have loved the Bills trade though. Edmunds, plus 53 and 56, would have been very nice.

Pace has said he'd like to pick up a 3rd. So, our customary trade down in the 2nd, or using a future pick to jump back in, could be on the agenda.

Would love a Guard or a Wide Out at 39, if we stay there.

Same height as Ray Lewis and only 10 pounds lighter on draft day.

Willis, Bowman, Lavonte David, Freeman, Shazier, Briggs to name a few that are very similar size wise to Smith. Not sure why people crap on "small" LB

yeah and he went at the end of the 1st. This is 8th overall. He's got to be insanely good as a LB to justify this value. Very hard for a LB to have that kind of value, especially a small guy.

Because teams underestimated him because of his size. How many teams that passed on him would like a do over?

Briggs weighed 242 and Smith 236 at combine. I know it's different than when they played in college, but I'll be shocked if Smith weigh less than 235 in the NFL. Smith ran a 4.5 at 236 so he can still keep that weight and be that sideline to sideline LB.

Yep. Looking at Smith’s combine stats and he was exactly the same size as Ray Lewis. The ten pounds lighter remark was based off what I saw as his playing weight at Georgia.

If Smith turns out to be a HOF like lewis ill forgive the #8 pick issue
