Illinois losing to Eastern Michigan at home. Time to rebuild again (should've been last year)

Feleipe Franks just had a bad leg injury. Just got rolled up on while getting sacked. Guessing his leg was snapped because they were putting a cast on his leg.

Awful day for the Big Ten:

-Illinois loses at home to Eastern Michigan
-Temple defeats newly ranked Maryland
-Michigan State loses at home to Arizona St
-Pittsburgh was about 25 yards short of taking PSU Ari OT
-Minnesota needed a TD with 13 seconds left to avoid losing to Georgia Southern at home
-Purdue down 2 TDs at home to TCU
-Iowa is up 1 on Iowa State with 4 mins left

Guess Northwestern, Nebraska and Ohio state looked good but none of them were against quality opponents

Iowa/Iowa St really lives up to the El Assico moniker every year. Just glad my team won what weird ass game and I hope Iowa St is actually decent

Is it your position that Derwood (and Truffle) are not allowed to express any opinion about anything in college football for the rest of their lives without getting this crap lobbed at them? Because that was a complete non sequitur.

They probably shouldn’t ever talk crap about any other program ever

It was a stupid throwaway joke. I get it if a PSU fan says something about a program's unethical behavior, but saying Illinois sucks is not exactly controversial.

As an Illinois native I enjoy any and all Illinois razzing but the only thing better is reminding PSU people how terrible they all are.

Was that really an opinion based response?

I probably should not have responded with a dumb comment to an equally dumb comment just for the sake of interjecting.

It is the ultimate Trump card though.

Dumb comment? The Illini haven't had a winning record since 2011, and that was 7-6. What's incorrect about pointing out that they have been bad for many years in a row?

I do hope the illini avoid their same mistakes as far as going after a successful non power 5 or an out of the box pick and go after one of the better assistants who is a proven recruiter.

They have no excuse for settling on coaches. As I said, they have the same cut of Big 10 money as OSU or Michigan, but they act like a "small market team". Why?

BTW, Purdue and Minnesota are equally guilty of this

Hiring Lovie Smith was a small market move?

This is why there’s no need to talk about PSU when derwood talks, he’ll inevitably say something stupid on hos own. Stay tuned for basketball season when he asks why Penn State is playing Rutgers during conference season
