I feel like they should rename Soldier Field using this quote. It's Bear fandom in a nutshell.

Sadly, that is where we are. We will never have a QB we can fawn over. Well, we fawned over Cutler, but his time in Chicago was marred by mismanagement, coaching changes and no offensive line.

Josh McCown is only 41. I'd be okay with him, too. Pretty sure I could list several others that I'd prefer right now over Trubisky. And it seems that Pace is of the same frame of mind since he's kicking the tires on EVERYONE.

Wow, not in love with a 4th for Foles. I hope this includes some cap restructing where Jax takes on a bit more of the cap hit than they project to do as is.

I still hope they draft a guy too. And at this point, if they can get a late Rd pick for Trubisky, I'd do it.

Kwiatkowski, Jackson, Cohen, Howard, Wims (might be OK), Nichols, and Amos...all guys Pace has drafted in the 4th or later.

(Yes I realize how stupid this looks after I said I'd be OK trading a late pick for Cam, but I meant like a 7th or something and that would have been a lot more fun than this)

Great to see we now have both QBs from last year's exciting 16-15 playoff game

Nothing important, but the most significant part of this trade for me is that I have a good friend who is a dead ringer for Foles.

So Dalton likely to the Patriots? Cam likely to the Chargers. Winston to ? I don't know. Who else is shopping QB's now? Denver or the Redskins?

It feels like just last year I was making fun of the Jags for signing Foles to that contract... oh yeah I was.

Denver seems set on Lock. I think Washington is set on Haskins.

I think Winston is now the front runner for the 2021 XFL MVP.

I would love to see Belichick say horsefeathers it and not grab any QBs. I'd prefer that would result in them falling on their faces, but I guess it wouldn't be awful seeing him somehow make a Jarrett Stidham led team turn into a super bowl contender

Let's see. We're ignoring foundational positions like OL to buy expensive veterans at flash positions like pass rusher and TE. We're somehow getting older. And we're trading picks to make multi-year commitments to bad QBs.

This is everything I expected and didn't want from Pace.

I think Barnwell is right in that it probably depends on the $, but at first blush horsefeathers this

One initial report said Bears pick up 3/50, which is just his remaining base salaries, only 2020 is guaranteed. 15.125 / 14.875 / 20.

That would mean Jax restructured some workout bonuses and roster bonuses due and took those hits.

It's funny you say that because I thought Stidham was underrated as a QB prospect. He fit the whole multiseason starter with 60%+ completion rates thing that I like for QB prospects, had the size and the arm, and overall seemed like a solid QB prospect for where they got him in the draft

Last year their offense was night and day without Isaiah Wynn, the new LT, and so I'm thinking a one year in house understudy like Stidham really might not kill the Pats dead just yet

I feel like Bears' Theobutnotasgood should be doing everything he can to get Dalton

Edit: Oh, Foles instead...I guess it's not the worst, still leaves too much room for Mitch IMO

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: the Bears will never Have a good QB as long as Virginia McCaskey lives. She has placed a curse upon this franchise and she’ll never die

Indeed, you knew some team was going to get doped into giving him a [expletive] of money for a handful of good/great performances and the Jags were the team.

Panthers released Eric Reid. Wish Pace would give him a look but I doubt this franchise would allow it.
