Given the cap issues at the time, I was shocked they resigned Trevathan. Probably could have brought back both Nick Kwiatkoski and Pierre-Louis combo for less.

Nick and Danny ended up just about the same AAV, though Trevanthan has a funky structure with backloaded years that makes his 2020 hit a couple mil lower than Nick. And KPL would be another 1.2M.

But yea I felt at the time they overpaid Danny (Kwiatkoski went for more than I thought he would too).

dollar for dollar, I'd rather have Nick. Late last year he was playing like a beast

Extending a 30 year old LB who's not a playmaker is just monumentally stupid IMO. Add in that he'd only played 46/64 games since signing with us and we had his 26 y/o ascending replacement in tow, its just totally irresponsible. Hated the move 100%.

FWIW, Trevathan was out there on the Swift drop that lost the game for the Lions. He was chasing Swift across the field and may actually still be trying to catch him. Subbing in Bush may have won them the game, but putting Trevathan back in for that play almost lost it.

Also, funny story. I remember my sophomore year in HS we were scrimmaging in the goalline drill and the losing side of the ball had to do pushups or laps or something. I was at TE and got a dump pass that went just like the Swift play. Hit me in the numbers, put my arms around it, turned and I dropped the ball. But because every player was bunched up in the box, it wasn't in the open. So everyone else on the field thought I caught it, turned my back, and spiked the ball between my legs after I scored and won it for my team. And the defense had to do the lap.

Don't hate the deal for Cohen. He is pretty important to the offense and will continue to be going forward if Nagy ever gets things consistently the way he wants. 5-6Mil is not a big deal, even with a lot of commitments next year. And I'm very happy about only 3 years. That deal takes Cohen thru his age 28 season, which is the perfect time to get rid of a RB. He's also a punt returner, and sometimes is good at it.

It's not terrible, but I'm not sure it was a good priority for the coming offseason, which is gonna be tight on cap space.

Cap is going to be really interesting next year, depending how the revenue fallout goes. Apparently could go all the way down to 175m. But big new TV money also looming in 2022.

It's not a good priority, but his 3-5 Mil cap hit won't make or break the team, especially for his production. The issues are going to come from the much bigger contracts to players that may or may not be justified.

i mean he was never gonna be a high on the depth chart guy. i think it's far more of a testament to how confident they are in mooney than cutting bait on the other depth speed WR.

This Mitch is better than 2018 Mitch who relied on his legs a lot for value. Consistency is gonna still be his issue though I think.
