Umm that sounds horrifying and bizarre

At least now I can understand why they were hesitant to really explain what happened.

He was sober at deadspin awards. Got drunk after and sang karaoke. Passed out and choked on his own blood. They cut open his neck and he woke up a week later.

I'm wondering if he had a stroke or something that made him feel like he was drunk, but wasn't really? Could have just been a weird picture, but he didn't look like himself in the "too damn fine" pic.

He was drunk but doesn't want his insurance company to know?

Does that matter? Can insurance refuse to pay because of that?

I have no idea. Maybe they don't want their kids to read about daddy getting drunk and almost dying. Either way, it seems highly unlikely that Drew Magary went out and suffered some sort of non-alcohol related accident following the deadspin awards in Manhattan in the height of everybody is getting wasted at holiday parties season.
