I love that I work in a laid back office and have a mounted TV we can put the games on. Been able to watch so much more than I would normally.

Pretty sure that game just made soccer fans out of a couple of haters at my office.

Seriously? Other than the last goal, what did he do? Costa had a better game.

Swap Nigeria with Croatia. The Peru/Denmark match will be the best one of the day.

Germany/Mexico is not for the faint of heart. Feels like there’s a shot on goal for both sides every 90 seconds or so.

There seems to be an influx of people in my life heavily rooting for Mexico because the US isn’t in the World Cup. Is this actually a thing or are the people I know strange?

I was on the fence and as soon as the game started wanted Mexico to win badly

I’m pulling for Mexico. This is life and death for their fans it seems. Plus, I like underdogs and I’m not into soccer enough to be deep into the US/Mexico rivalry. Also, Trump and current American political climate make me side with them a little more

I did, and that Bocanegra and a few others gave him the business over it too. The 60 minutes of bunkering and gamesmanship plus a cameo from Marquez are an excellent example why I’d never pull for them to win a single game.

mexico blew half a dozen golden counter attacks so it's not like it dragged the game into the mud

This.

Pretty disappointed Germany didn’t adjust. Mexico’s game plan was to hit them on the counter and they had a couple odd man rushes before they scored. Wing backs kept going forward but they had no cover. Mexico fully deserved that first goal.
